ARTICLE 9: Gameplay Rulebook

Section 1: Overview

The purpose of the rulebook is to ensure that users within the league are not exploiting glitches in the system to create an unfair advantage. The rulebook is also set in place to implement a simulation-style league. Under each rule is a scenario of consequences concerning the rule.

1.1: Pre-game

Due to not having the ability to pause the game to make depth chart changes, each team on Offense is allowed ONE delay of penalty to make these changes in their formations. This is valid and must be used within the first minute of the game. Cannot be redeemed. The head coach must decline the penalty. Any other delays after is subject to acceptance.

Once the ball is kicked off any lagouts that happen will require the game to restart after halftime.

At least one person from each line MUST stream their game. The stream is not required to be posted publicly but the stream could be needed for complaints.

1.2: Positions

Before the snap, each user must be in the following positions:

Offense

1 QB

1 RB/FB

1 WR/TE

Defense

1 DE/DT/EDGE(Must start play in tackle box)

1 LB(Must start play in tackle box)

1 DB

Section 2: Gameplay Rules

2.1: Chewing clock

Due to the amount of time set on the games, chew clock is not permitted unless it is in the 4th quarter after the 2-minute warning.

2.2: Throwing outside the numbers

Isn’t allowed. The QB must run with the ball or throw it away at that point. The QB cannot run outside the numbers and run back in to throw the ball. To be determined that the QB is outside the numbers, over half of the QB or both feet is outside of the numbers.

Consequences

If the QB violates this rule, they can do the following (if the play gained yardage):

– Go back to the original LOS on next play and loss of down(1st occurrence)

– punt the ball (2+ occurrences in a game)

If the QB does not follow the terms of that possession, any points scored on that drive in which the rule was violated will NOT count in the final score. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions.

2.2.1: QB Running

Is allowed 3 times per drive.

* QB running is defined as scrambling on a pass play. Designed QB runs do not count toward this ruling.

If the QB violates this rule, they can do the following (if the play gained yardage):

– Go back to the original LOS on next play and loss of down(1st occurrence)

– punt the ball (2+ occurrences in a game)

2.2.2: Spamming of plays

Cannot call the same play more than 2x in a row

Base defenses do not count as repetition plays, only defenses that rush the QB quickly.

Consequences

If the offense violates this rule, they can do the following (if the play gained yardage):

– Go back to the original LOS on next play and loss of down(1st occurrence)

– punt the ball (2+ occurrences in a game)

If the QB does not follow the terms of that possession, any points scored on that drive in which the rule was violated will NOT count in the final score. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions.

2.2.3: 4th down rule

4th and 3 before the 50 yard line

4th and anywhere after the 50

4th and anywhere when down in 4th Q

Consequences

If the offense violates this rule, they can do the following (if successful):

– punt the ball

If the QB does not follow the terms of that possession, any points scored on that drive in which the rule was violated will NOT count in the final score. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions.

2.2.4: Kickoffs

Kicks must go to the returner only. No high left/right sky kicks to the FB.

Consequences

If the kickoff is fielded by the FB or TE and the result is a turnover, the team that violated the rule must give the ball back ASAP.

If the OC does not follow the terms of that possession, any points scored on that drive in which the rule was violated will NOT count in the final score. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions.

2.2.5: Gadget plays

Gadget plays are plays defined as reverses, wildcats, flea flickers, Philly special, direct RB, or WR snaps,  etc.

Is allowed up to 3 times a drive.

Consequences

If the offense violates this rule, they can do the following

– take a 10-yard loss and loss of down (2x usage a game)

– punt the ball (3+ times the rule is broken)

If the QB does not follow the terms of that possession, any points scored on that drive in which the rule was violated will NOT count in the final score. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions.

2.2.6: Dropbacks

The QB cannot drop back more than:

15 yards from LOS

Consequences

If the offense violates this rule, they can do the following:

– Take a 15-yard loss and loss of down on the next play if no yards were gained

– punt the ball if the result of the dropback was a first down

If the QB does not follow the terms of that possession, any points scored on that drive in which the rule was violated will NOT count in the final score. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions.

2.2.7: Defensive line rush

The defense must rush at least 3 defenders at a given time.

Consequences

If the defense violates this rule, they can do the following:

– first down for the offense in each occurrence

If a turnover is caused by this violation, the team that broke the rule must punt the ball and the other team’s field position must be within 5 yards of where they were previously at. Multiple occurrences throughout games will result in game suspensions

3.1 A.I. Tampering

Rules that may not be covered specifically, but unrealistically affect the game may be deemed illegal under A.I. Tampering.

Any route combo that glitches the A.I defender to leave its assigned zone in order for a player to run by the defender for an easy touchdown(i.e cover 3 beaters with a streak and out/corner combo to glitch outside deep third) is considered A.I tampering. (This does not include deep crossing patterns that run overtop of coverages.)NOTE. This does not include match coverages like Cover 3 Match and Cover 4 Palms as they are designed to match receivers.

Looping

Hover Blitzing

A button speed glitch on defense(This is not removing the A button completely this is saying you cannot use the A to get a speed burst while pass rushing or to gain an advantage in pass coverage)

Section 4: Post-game

Finals for the game must be reported in the game results channel and Stat Photos will be posted in the post game stats channel.
