LA CHARGERS 19-8

GA 2 (week 3 record 6-3) LW rank 1 (-)

With week 3 coming to an end and looking forward into week 4. The Chargers have had a great season and look to further progress themselves moving into a championship push. Finishing week 3 at 6-3. Same as last week has been their worst week to date. Their team as a whole has continued to get better and has a strong and solid three lines. With dirty falcons now at QB in replace of the newly retired Huskynuts the team has gotten better. On both sides of the ball, having 3 of the top 5 leaders in DTDs and two of the most consistent QBs in the league. The chargers are in a great spot to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs. Dirty falcons having a solid 2-1 week which makes it the best week for the third line, which only strengthens this teams resolve and foundation moving near the playoffs.

    -Great madden roster

  • Cons:
-Weak run game on all lines, little showing from running backs consistently
    -Madden offensive roster lacks speed

#2

Cleveland Browns 17-10

GB 2 (week 3 record 6-3) LW 2 (-)

The Browns are proving to be an issue for all teams. Good or bad the browns have had opportunity’s to win every game they have played. With nick Chubb being the most broken player in madden unarguably. With no one being able to stop him. Spam the A button score TDs seems to be the trend in Cleveland. And the trend is working giving all three Browns RBs the top three RB spots in the league. With every RB toating the rock over 150x through 9 games and all gathering more than 15 TDs. With high ypc averages these RBs are clearly making their marks in the league. Especially FearPainkiller who is by far leading the MVP race with 18tds a 9.7 ypc and 25.5 sacks on the other side of the ball. Painkiller has been a menace to the league and is the leading canidate for the MVP, Barring he does not slip up in week 4 which does not seem will be the case. The browns will look to have a strong week 4 and lock in the 1st or 2nd seed. which should happen with just a handful of wins. This team i believe as of rn is the team to watch going into the playoffs and is probably the SB favorites as of RN even sitting at number 2.

Cons
-No QB abilities
-Small window for error. Go behind 2 scores running game may not be enough.

Kansas City Chiefs 15-12

GB 2 (Week 3 record 7-2) LW 6th (+3)

The Kansas City Chiefs made a splash in week 3 having their best week of the season, going 7-2 climbing three spots in the rankings from week 2. Chiefs finally got high quality productions out of Hucci who did finish the week winning PLOTW award. Finishing the week with 600+ yards 11tds and 4 sacks on the defensive side of the ball. Coming into the week hucci has not had the best season. As well as his QB brethren Ebokstop both have been struggling in the win loss category. But all that changed this week with Ebok going 2-1 his only loss coming to the #2 powerhouse Browns, and huccie going 3-0. If the chiefs are fixing their struggles it is going to be a big issue moving forward into the playoffs. They were power ranked second by most polls coming into the season and has been a disappointment for the most part. All that may change a lot to watch for in week 4. To see if Ebok can produce another winning week and if hucci can keep a steady consistent pace with his week 3 POTW performance.

Tampa bay Buccaneers 14-13

GB 1 (Week 3 record 5-4) LW 4 (-)

The Buccaneers in the preseason were the consensus #1 team. But with a struggling DTM koolaidz who has had every DC in the league on his line this season and still somehow finds a way to struggle. The buccaneers find themselves at number 4 once again. Which may not be a horrible place to be. With abyss coming through with a 3-0 week and Koolaidz getting some clutch wins that were truly needed. The Buccaneers give a strong feeling that they may be on the rise. It is definitely not an offensive issue their woes are coming on the defensive side of the ball. Having the 3rd worst defense in the league. Although improving that by one spot last week the Buccaneers had the second to last defense in the league. Progression? who knows. But it is the one and only consistent issue the Buccaneers face game in and game out. How will they get stops. With high powered offenses from koolaids and abyss, if the Bucs can find a way to rally the defensive troops they may find themselves a true threat in the playoffs.

Buffalo Bills 14-13

GB - (Week 3 record 5-4) LW #5 (-)

The Bills are still in the mix for a solid seat in the playoffs. They have had solid offensive play, nothing that breaks the barrier but solid. With von miller being out the bills have still been able to remain a competitive defensive unit. and will continue to do so pushing forward to week 3. Leading the way in the defensive aspect is Areis. Who is a front runner for DBOTY. But the big news for the bills this week was the acquisition of commissioner TMO. With trade deadline looming the bills made a las second transaction to acquire TMO via trade with the eagles, Eagles will receive highwalker in return, the bills just recently recieved highwalker in a trade with the Bengals. So essentially a three-way trade. With TMO hitting the bills roster where he spent season 6 he is looking to make some changes. The once self-proclaimed minister of defense has not been nearly defensive this season starting with Buccs having struggles there then getting shopped around and ending up here heading into week 4 with the bills. The bills who are in a comfy spot looking to secure the playoff spot this week will look to tmo to help improve the mediocre roster here on the bills. The bills have a solid opportunity to make a splash in the playoffs they just have to work around the lack of von miller and use their weapons to their advantage which seems to be the case for a few lines there already. They will need high production from their QBs and strong stands on defense when the opportunity arises and then they may have a shot at the ship at the end of the season.

Greenbay packers 14-13

GB - (Week 3 record 3-6) LW#3 (-3)

The packers have had a rough go this week. Their money line with the “MUT BOYS” have fallen apart. I know for sure hexied and crew lost two this week. Hard to see how bad they did with no stats being entered yet in specific games. After losing their first games the Hexied line fell apart not only blowing up on his line in game but also reflecting his feeling in discord. Going on a personal attack rant which in the end ended up getting him muted “Indefinitely”. This breakdown from the self-proclaimed “BEST LINE IN VFL HISTORY” is a harsh reality for the Packers. How they recover from such a tragic week is a sight we all will look apon as week 4 closes in. and how the packers recover as a whole moving into the playoffs. Falling to rank 6 after having a great first half of the season is a bit of a shocker. The packers will have to bounce back and grab some momentum going into the playoffs. Needing hexied to gather his thoughts and start playing like they need him to play. and not throwing a tantrum in discord. Maybe just maybe the packers will have some sort of shot at any type of success in the playoffs. But honestly in my opinion i do not see this happening. I feel the packers are just to mediocre not only in madden but also in league roster. They are neither good nor bad just there.

Cincinnati Bengals 10-17

GB 4 (Week 3 record 4-5) LW #7 (-)

The bengals are not looking good. Struggling to having a winning week. The Bengals playoff hopes are grim. With being 4 games behind they will need a miracle to make a playoff birth. With only 9 games in the week and 4 games behind the Bengals will need to win at least 7 and pray for a crumble of the packers. With none of their QBs having a winning record through 3 weeks, their playoff appearance is looking nonexistent. All season long the Bengals have struggled to get a head of their losses and going into week 4 nothing is different. With trading Highwalker for crazy effects I don’t see this being the game changing move they need to make it pass the mountain the Bengals have been climbing all season. Although may smooth some things out in the locker room it doesn’t appear that locker room antics is the issue here. But we shall see.

Im going to try and be as gentle as i can here. There was some chaos at the trade deadline with some players around the league having issues with a team whom is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs making a trade when it benefits them none. I do believe they are mathematically eliminated even if they go 9-0 and the packers go 0-9 i assume the packers would still have the tie breakers. So the best thing i can say about the Eagles is that the owner johnny wheels will make sure no matter what that his team is there for their games. In doing so will not produce any FFs. Other than that this team is only here to play and enjoy themselves. There season will end at the end of week 4.

HIGH TIMES TOP 8 QB RANKINGS

#8. HXIED “BIGGEST PRO = LOW salary & MASSIVE POTENTIAL / BIGGEST CON = CAN HE ONLY SUCCEED WITH HIS MUT FRIENDS?”.

The only true VFL rookie QB to make the list, since TPBRAVES technically played WR last season. Sure, AR is a cheat code to user, but running with the Green Bay offense, IS NOT. What makes HXIED’s performance thus far even more spectacular, is the fact that he was a late addition to his team and basically had to jump right in… Not only to a new team, but a team that was in VFL turmoil after their GM retired and two different core players were traded away.

#7. BLKSUP3RSA1YAN “BIGGEST PRO = MASSIVE DUAL THREAT ABILITY/ BIGGEST CON = REPETITIVE & bASIC PLAYCALLING”.

Quite possibly, one of the most enjoyable to watch QBs in our league, BLK is someone who simply sees the field different from most QBs in the VFL- more than likely due to his RB background. Another major selling point of this QB is his willingness to get his user WR involved – not just throwing to himself on most plays.

#6. TPBRAVES “biggest pro = great scheme/utilizes every player on the field/ biggest con = inexperienced and plays timid at times”.

BRAVES has proved many doubters wrong so far this season with his ability to win big games and keep pace statistically with fellow top VFL QB’s. From firsthand experience, this QB has the potential to be a top 8 play caller for many seasons to come- ideally moving forward you would like to see him develop a relationship with fellow VFL talent, so his lines aren’t always thrown together last second and lacking past chemistry.

#5. EBOK “biggest pro = elite playbook knowledge / biggest con = hot and cold team performances, never consistently winning games”.

Ebok is most certainly on the VFL’s Mount Rushmore of league quarterbacks. It seems like every season he’s either the favorite or a strong dark horse SB candidate. Statistically speaking his numbers outshine most, but his current W/L record and low completion percentage are slight concerns. One thing is for certain, when watching or playing against his line, the game is going to be a complete shoot out!

#4. CHAMP “Biggest pro = has some nearly impossible mut plays to stop/ biggest con = if highpoint passing wasnt so op, would he do this well”?

Champ is living the good life this season. Not only does he have the blessing of using the Chargers offense, but he fortunately has the blessing of using the best High point passer in Madden per his in-game abilities. Either way, we can’t take away from his success thus far, with a nearly perfect season record and a very strong TD to INT ratio, one thing is for certain when Champ lines up for a VFL game- his opponents have a very tough road ahead of them.

#3. LUCKY “Biggest pro = possibly the leagues best game manager / biggest con = good at everything, great at minimal”.

This QB deserves a lot of credit this season. From constant ridiculing in general chat, to players leaving and lines being changed ultra-frequently- LUCKY has been able to drown out the noise and simply focus on winning football games. His stats won’t blow you away, but he does lead the league in completion percentage- which tells me, he’s making the right decision more times than not.

#2. ABYSS ” biggest pro = plays madden like an actual qb would/ biggest con = lets too many winnable games slip away”.

Ironically speaking, Abyss might be our league’s version of Tom Brady once you break down the all-time stats. I would say he’s probably the most sought after QB to play for, posing very minimal ego and always in consideration for a league title. There’s not much I could say here, that hasn’t been said before by most other league members. Abyss could easily be our #1 ranked QB if his record wasn’t a surprising 3-3.

#1. TXJAMESSMITHTX ” biggest pro = most efficient qb in our league/ biggest con = none at this moment”.

All you really need to say is 6-0 record. When our league revealed it’s early MVP Canidates and TXJAMES wasn’t listed, I truly believe we could have broken the VFL’s code of conduct and started a riot!

LA CHARGERS

13-5

The Chargers have been on a tear since starting the season. Finishing week one with a 6-3 record. Going into week 2 looking to improve on the strong start. And did just that. Finishing week 2 7-2 was an improvement. With their only losses coming from their third line and at the hands of huskynuts. With strong play from King champ, da accountant, and Farah finishing 5-1 after two weeks. Is a huge reason the chargers are sitting at number one. Having strong play on both sides of the ball. with champ finishing high on the QB charts in almost all categories. The chargers are going to be an issue for all teams. If their 3rd line can get it together this could be a walk in to the number one seed going into the playoffs.

The chargers have lead the league in most points for as well as fewest points against. The run game is lacking as the numbers for the running backs are not comparable to the league leaders, Although the QB play is in the higher tier. with both QB having extremley high TD/INT ratios, as well as the stat that truly matters W/L

Cleveland Browns

11-7

THE CLEVELAND BROWNS, This team has been getting things done. They are scrappy and gritty just like you would expect from a Cleveland browns team. They have dominated to the run game, I MEAN DOMINATED. no one is close to their rushing totals all three of their backs are in the top the in almost every rushing category. Rightly so with nick Chubb in your backfield there is no reason to go elsewhere. With brady switching to RB it was something a lot of people were looking forward to seeing this season, but the man has not disappointed. Coming off a QBOTY award last season to playing RB this season was something that a bit shocking. But with his 11.2 ypc he has been spectacular. As well as the other RBs alongside him, with painkiller and brady already after 6 games already surpassing the 1k yard mark. Northsides has been struggling in comparison to the other 2. Only sustaining a 6.6 YPC number which is well under the 11+ from his backfield teammates. That being said with Desean Watson coming back this week we did see a slight uptick in passes from the Browns this week. Maybe this will help the Northsides and the other browns running backs improve, being able to implement slightly more balance to their game may open up the offense even more so than it already is. Let’s not forget about the defensive side of the ball though. Miles garret has been a menace to all QBs who have played against the Browns. Painkiller leads the league in sacks. With majority of those 22.5 sacks coming in one game against Blunky racking up 9.5 in the single meeting between the two. These types of performances is the reason the browns are sitting at number 2 on the week 2 power rankings list

#3

Greenbay Packers

11-7

The GB Packers land themselves here at the #3 spot losing the tie breakers to the Browns, This team is in all aspects as of right now the Cinderella story of the VFL. These guys have been performing at a rate that no one in the league other than themselves could for see. WRNZO has been a menace at rb averaging over 15 ypc on 29 attempts this man is on a tear and will stop at nothing clearly to get GB on the map couple that with his 7.5 sacks, which is not an easy feat with GB pass rushing core. At the beginning of the season a lot of people were already chomping at the bit to put GB on their schedule as a stat game. NOT ANYMORE. GB has showed up and showed out, even after losing their gm in week one. The owner stated after the GM retired that it would not affect the team and they would continue on their path to win the ring. Which to be honest we thought he was exaggerating, nevermore he is in the process of letting the play speak for itself. there is no statistics from these guys that are absolutely eye popping, EXCEPT. Cruce world and hxied are finishing up this week 3-0 and are helping GB make the push the owner promised. on the other hand, you have the owner Lucky Dabs holding the highest completion % in the league at 70% with 100 attempts. So Greenbay is here and they are not playing NEW GM NEW TEAM SAME FIGHT. #PACKATTACK

TB Buccaneers

9-9

This may be the biggest shock after two weeks. They still have player stats that are not in at the time of writing this so its hard to get a complete view of what is going on in tampa. But i will say GREEN BAY ran tampa into the ground. with 5 tds in one game and 4 in another not knowing the final score bc it was not posted. With a loaded team with Koolaidz and abyss. Abyss having a great season on offense leading the league in TDs with 18 but finishing after 2 weeks 3-3 must be something on the defensive side of the ball. The Buccaneers are struggling to find consistency and it is showing in their record. All preseason power rankings placed this team at number one but with Koolaidz struggling and Abyss not finding wins when needed they find themselves falling in the power rankings i do believe they will be a playoff team and if they can fix their defensive woes they could be more than that but at this verry moment the buccaneers are issues putting up winning streaks and finding success on the defensive side of the ball. Cleaning up a few things specifically forcing turnovers on defense their record would be a whole lot better.

Buffalo Bills

9-9

The Bills are a solid team with good competitors. Although they are struggling against the better competition in the league as a team. On the other hand they are winning the games they should beating the lower ranked teams heavily. With only 8 teams that is a recipe for playoffs. Once getting there though there is no lower ranked teams to hide behind you will have to perform and they have the players to do it. Losing von miller is a big blow though for the bills. And will make it difficulty for them moving forward especially when it comes to the heavy passing teams which most teams in the league are. Rushing the passer was a huge factor when selecting the bills in the bidding, So much so that when miller went down owner Ace boogs wanted to switch teams before the season started. Not allowing him to switch ace and his guys had to make do with what was left. And in most cases have done so finishing week two with an overall record of 9-9 is not a bad place to sit. Its a current playoff seed and gives you an opportunity to push for a ship which for most of us is the main goal. With the bills losing vonn and the users not having any QB in the top ten passing stats leaderboard it begs the question of how will they conitnue to win? When their star defensive player is gone and they are not taking advantage of the QB Josh allens potential its going to continue to be a tough road for them moving forward. Don’t mistake the wording they do have competitors who have the potential to take any game to the wire and force last minute drives in their favor. The issue is consistency and how to get hot on the back end of the schedule. In an 8 team season its going to be difficult with high competition

As shown the bills as a team will need to do better and adjust that PF and PA they rank near the bottom of the league and will need to adress that. Doing so should result in more win streaks and leaderboard climbing they also need to get higher play form their QBs with Von miller gone they really need to score every possession on offense.

Kansas City Chiefs

8-10

This like the buccaneers is shocking. Its shocking to see a team ran by a top tier QB so low on the power rankings list. Finishing week 2 at 8-10 Ebokstop should be ashamed of himself regardless of how the loses came about. I am more than aware at what the chiefs struggle with and understand defense with that team is not easy. But finishing week 2 18 games in with only 8 wins is embarrassing and ebok trolls alot but i know it hurst his ego sitting this low on the rankings list. Its obviously a defensive issue when two of the three QBs on your team is in the top ten passing leaders list. As well as an underperforming Hucci selected as Eboks GM Hucci has been struggling horribly with Mahomes only scoring 8tds followed up with 8ints. This is not the recipe for success especially when you are handpicked for a GM spot that is needed to have a high skill level. in order to make a push to the super bowl typically. BLKsupersa1yan has been carrying holding the team right now with as many wins as hucci and ebok combined finishing week 2 with a 4-2 record. Luckily for ebok and hucci that he is. Giving them time to figure out what is going on with their individual lines. I’m aware the loses have been awkward but that being said from players like ebok and hucci the games should not be a one possession game anyway much less losing on a missed FG or int on the last drive. these are things that should not happen.

#7

Cincinatti Bengals

6-11

The Bengals have done surprisingly better than i expected the play from TPBraves has been extremely competitive. Has put himself in positions to win games they probably had no chance in. Braves is the only one of the Bengal’s who is in any top ten category for them he is finishing up this week with a 3-3 record. One of his three wins is over the 5-1 line of the chargers who did play them again this week and got redemption but his mere win over a line that otherwise has not lost shows his competitiveness and willing to scrap regardless of the competition. As of right now if the season ended today the Bengals would miss the playoffs by one spot 2 games. With only 8 teams this season is going to be competitive to the end and a team that in any other scenario with more than 8 teams would make the playoffs, but someone has to miss. IMO the two that may miss is either bills, Bengals or eagles. They will be scrapping for that final spot. i fell it will come down to the end the bills are in a good spot rn but a few adjustments that can get braves some help and the Bengal’s can make a push

The Eagles have been struggling. Under johnny wheels and blunkey who had a great draft and struggled week one and followed that up with another bad week. Thye are seemed to be doomed Trading away players who could help along with demand a trade requests. The great bidding had fallen apart. Shady has not lived up to any sort of stable option at QB neither has any other QB the eagles have on roster. Its reflecting via their record. The eagles are struggling to find wins no matter who they play, or whom plays for them. Its been a disaster and they are struggling to pick up the pieces with only two weeks left they have to turn it around RN if they look to make a playoff push. They are 4 games out of playoffs right now and need a strong week winning at least 6 games this week and hope for some other teams to continue to struggle in order to have a prayer at sniffing the playoffs going into week 4.

#8 JOHNNY WHEELS x BLUNKEY (LAST WEEK #8)

An A for effort is about as far as we will go when applauding anything this team has done so far this season. Johnny Wheels deserved an opportunity to possibly show the league that an owner does not have to be a former top tier player to succeed at running a team. Unfortunately, after starting the year 4-13 maybe this whacky experiment gone wrong will act as a warning to future unprepared owners.

 #7 TPBRAVES x MIDNIGHT (LAST WEEK #6)

The Bengals should be thankful they are playing this season alongside The Eagles. If that wasn’t the case, much more negative attention would be circulating this team. Sitting at 6-11, with a HUGE game tonight with major playoff implications, this team is the master of their own domain. It’s hard to say where this team lands by next week, obviously I’m a little bias due to the fact I’m MR BENGAL himself, but because of that, I also see the major potential this team possesses if everything goes correct. Win or lose, Owner and GM (Braves & Midnight) are having phenomenal statistical seasons and at the very least they can use this season as momentum moving forward into Season 8.

 #6 ACEBOOGS x BWALL (LAST WEEK #7)

I find this team very enjoyable to root for and root against, depending on how I’m feeling that day. Ace and Bwall are both VFL veterans that speak their mind and can never be told they don’t have vision. As I look down their roster, Sacrifice, Ibprofam, Aries, Warpath, Crazy Effectz, these are all extremely talented players, utilizing an extremely talented Bills team, even after the Von Miller injury. If you ask me, I would they’re probably one trade away from truly being able to complete in the Season 7 Playoffs. Statistically speaking, Warpath either needs to be delt or figure out how to pass the football again- even though Allen is a very run friendly QB, 1TD x 5INT will simply not get it done. Their recipe for success will definitely be improving that 3rd line.

 #5 EBOK x HUCCI (LAST WEEK #2)

Look, I’m not going to get carried away here and make the same mistake I did in Season 6.  Sure, the Chiefs currently sit at 8-10, their heavily dependent on high point passes and they already have a FF and a 2v3 game that resulted in a loss late last night. Either way, let’s make one thing absolutely clear- until Ebok and the Chiefs are statistically eliminated from the playoff race (Which I doubt will happen), Any and every team that would face them come playoff time will be shaking in their Yeezy boots. This team is still dangerous, I’m curious to see if Ebok can quickly turn things around similar to how he did last season.

 #4 LUCKY (LAST WEEK #5)

I have to give this man credit; at the beginning of Season 7 this team was a giant ball of toxic waste. You had one of the most undermining, overly confident GM’s I’ve personally ever seen- ruling with an iron fist and causing issue after issue as he made his team development decisions. Flash forward to today, the GM is gone and 3 trades later… it seems like Lucky has finally found his footing. Sitting at 11-7 and riding a 4-game winning streak, Lucky and company seem poised to make a strong playoff run and they’re also doing this while utilizing an All-Rookie 3rd line!

#3 ABYSS x KOOLAIDZ (LAST WEEK #1)

So, I’m a little shocked to see this team’s recent fall from grace… On one end Abyss is hands down the best QB in the league so far with 18TDS x 5 INTS, on the other end- his supposed #2 line of KoolAidz, TMO and Tiger have been lackluster to say the least. No matter what, here’s the dealio- this team will make the playoffs and be a tough out, NO MATTER WHAT. I would assume the biggest question mark moving forward is the Utah gang and their inability to score points, even though their other 2 lines are involved in major high scoring games more times than not.

 #2 DROCK x BRADY (LAST WEEK # 4)

RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN

#1 TXJAMES x CHAMP (LAST WEEK #3)

The Chargers were my dark horse SB candidates this season and as it currently sits, my prediction for them may come true. 13-5 record with a 4-game winning streak, the high point specialist Justin Herbert has possibly surpassed Tom Brady as the most annoying QB to play against in Madden. As we go deeper into this season, I personally believe high point passing will get nerfed, as I’m writing this article now, supposedly that has already happened- we shall see. No matter what, this team is a legit contender and I want to give credit to their Owner, GM and 3 lines for being some of the easiest people to deal with in this chaotic league.

HIGH TIMES- OVER REACTION WEDNESDAY

Halfway through our initial week 1 of games, storylines begin to formulate, and expectations are now transforming into reality. Below we will tackle five different scenarios and ask YOU the audience, is this a clearcut overreaction?? Or is this a storyline that could eventually pick up steam and become factual?

#1 “NO REAL SURPRISE HERE, THE BUCS OPEN THE SEASON AT 5-1, KOOLAIDZ IS ALREADY LEADING THE LEAGUE IN TD’S AND ABYSS WILL MOST CERTAINLY FOLLOW SUIT. WE’RE NOT EVEN THROUGH WEEK 1, BUT IS THIS TEAM ALREADY THE CLEARCUT SB FAVORITES??”

#2 “LUCKY AND THE GB PACKERS HAVE ABSOLUTELY JINXED THEIR CHANCES OF WINNING THIS YEAR BY BEING THE MOST OVERCONFIDENT TEAM IN THE LEAGUE AKA “RING SEASON”. AFTER SAID PHRASE WAS CREATED, 3-4 START, (TWO WINS BY JUST ONE POINT, TWO LOSES BY A COMBINED 63 POINTS), AR MIGHT MISS THE REST OF THE SEASON, LUCKY TRADES AWAY HIS FORMER GM IBPROFAM, AND ROOKIE QB CAUSE PUBLICALLY THROWS HIS LINE UNDER THE BUS AFTER A LOSS.”

#3 “EXTREMELY PREDICTABLE AND VERY ANNOYING TO PLAY AGAINST, THE BROWNS 3 HEADED RUNNING ATTACK OF BRADY, FEAR AND NORTH- WILL ABSOLUTELY BE TOP THREE IN THE LEAGUE FOR RUSHING AND PROBABLY BREAK ANY AND ALL VFL SINGLE-SEASON RUSHING RECORDS?

#4 FORMER MASSIVELY BIDDED QB WARPATH IS BACK IN THE LEAGUE ONCE AGAIN AND HAS QUICKLY BEEN BROUGHT UP FROM THE AFL BY THE BILLS. IN 5 SEASONS HE PUT TOGETHER AN EYE-OPENING STAT LINE OF 57TDS TO 83 INTS. NOW HE HAS AN OP JOSH ALLEN AND ZERO PRESSURE OF BEING THE TEAMS MOST EXPENSIVE PLAYER, THEREFORE SEASON 7 WILL GO DOWN AS HIS BEST SEASON EVER IN THE VFL.

#5 ALREADY OFF TO A 2-5 START, THEY’VE BEEN BLOWN OUT, SHUT OUT AND ALREADY HAVE CHATTER OF PLAYER UNHAPPINESS STARTING TO SPEW INTO DISCORD CHAT. THE SEASON 7 EAGLES WILL GO DOWN AS THE MOST DYSFUNCTIONAL AND STATISTICALLY WORST TEAM TO EVER PLAY IN THE VFL.

High Times – Owner/Team Rankings V3

After a two-week-long hiatus, we find ourselves a day into our inaugural Season 7 – week 1 matchups. player bidding is finally in the rearview, trades have been executed and the waiver wire is in full swing. Below we will recap what’s happened and what we predict could happen moving forward. As always, congrats to everyone involved, and here’s to hopefully what will become the best VFL season ever.

#8 JOHNNY WHEELS x BLUNKEY (LAST WEEK #8)

No surprise here, the Eagles are team that will ultimately sink or swim… At this point, there doesn’t seem to be any type of in between. After player bidding concluded, the dynamic duo of Wheels and Blunkey seem poised to “shock the world” you could say, with massive signings of Willy, Nate, Shady and Hutch – veteran players that have proved to be more than capable in past seasons. Though now a day into Season 7, they quickly find themselves in a 0-3 hole. Can GM QB Blunkey save the day?

#7 ACEBOOGS x BWALL (LAST WEEK #6)

At #7 The Money Team AKA The BBB (Big Baller Brand) of the VFL, finds themselves in a familiar spot with this ranking. Similar to the Eagles, this is another sink or swim team filled with big talent from past seasons. With the bidding selections of Areis, Sacrifice, Clutch and Crazy Effect and then a quick trade of former SB champ elite RB Ibprofam – this team is STACKED with talent and possibility. After going a respectable 2-1 last night, this team is poised to jump up the rankings with another stellar outing tonight. Though, as we dive into their 2 wins from Sunday, 27-24 over the Eagles and 28-24 win over the Browns, is this an Icarus scenario with a team that’s potentially flying too close to the sun? If you don’t know the reference… maybe hop off Madden for a moment and read a book 🙂

#6 TPBRAVES x MIDNIGHT (LAST WEEK #7)

To make sure I don’t come off bias here, heading into Sunday the Bengal’s were surely battling the #8 Eagles for the possible lowest ranked team to start our Season 7 kickoff. Flash forward to today, this team was literally 1 point away from starting the season 3-0 and this is after ending the night almost completely shutting down the QB star of the evening in KC (BLKSUPERSA1YAN). There’s a lot more football to go, but what a promising start from a team that most of the league has already written off.

#5 LUCKY x NEDLEY (LAST WEEK #3)

There is a lot to untangle here, so let’s just dive in headfirst- shall we? Rumors are swirling through the NFL this morning, stating Aaron Rodgers could possibly sit the rest of the 2022 season, making this team selection ultimately worthless from an offensive standpoint. Now it might not happen this upcoming week due to Rodgers stating he wants to play until the Packers are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but at 4-8 that day could be here WELL BEFORE our Season 7 playoffs begin. On top of all this real-life drama, the VFL Packers have potential problems of their own with last night loses of 21 points and 42. In 3 games their Points scored is 31 and Points allowed is 93. Is it still ring season?

#4 DROCK x BRADY (LAST WEEK # 4)

RPO Stretch Left, Stretch Right and when all else fails, streeeeetch a little more. Staying put at #4 The Browns have shown the league their goal and that goal is run the football, at least until Deshaun Watson comes back. All jokes aside, I personally think it’s a brilliant concept, when you take away heavy passing it simply allows you to control the clock and typically win the turnover battle, which is a recipe for wins, especially in a league that QBs struggle with turning the ball over.

#3 TXJAMES x CHAMP (LAST WEEK #5)

After starting the season 2-1 the Chargers are quite possibly turning into my dark horse SB candidate and here’s why – ZERO PLAYER PERSONAL DRAMA, it’s really that simple. As we see most teams star players extremely vocal in chat, either complaining or overly trash talking their opponents, you’ve probably noticed most of the Chargers lineup simply play their games and keep shit moving. I highly doubt this team has to deal with any player turnover and it will allow their lines to build true chemistry together, while most of the league’s owners are contemplating trading away key players every second of the day. Maybe I’m wrong, but I doubt it.

#2 EBOK x HUCCI (LAST WEEK #2)

Not much to dive into here with my final top teams. We know these #2 and #1 juggernauts will make playoffs and be contenders until the very end. I suppose my only question for the Chiefs here is, how well can BLK play throughout an entire season? You can clearly tell he’s a converted RB to QB by how dynamic he can be, especially when the play breaks down and he’s forced to freestyle. On the flip side of that, you see at times where he lacks reads and overall play call ability. Either way, this is a more than competitive team with ginormous upside.

#1 ABYSS x KOOLAIDZ (LAST WEEK #1)

2 weeks in a row now, we’ve given Abyss and company the #1 slot and that trend looks to continue as we play through week 1 and head into week 2 Sunday. Whichever way you slice it or dice it, this team is going to be a tough out, no matter what line it is and no matter what team they face. Now playing the devil’s advocate here, something to look into is Tristian Wirfs health moving forward. The star lineman could be out for the rest of the season and that would be a HUGE loss to this already banged up offensive line.

Bhedden’s Team Bidding Prediction

With team bidding commencing tonight, I asked a few owners what their thoughts were on teams that’d be bid on. For the most part, all of our ideas were very similar and compiled below.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers & Buffalo Bills

I see both of these teams going for 10 million or more. The fact that they were both the Super Bowl teams last season and nothing has changed. High point passes from Tom Brady to Mike Evans will be as hard as ever to stop and there’s no containing Von Miller from rushing through the offensive line.

Green Bay Packers

Personally one of my favorite teams to play with. Aaron Rogers release is so fast it’s extremely hard to sack him. Christian Watson is one of the fastest receivers in the game and then there’s Aaron Jones in the backfield. Pair all of that with a decent defense and with any halfway decent Madden players, that’s a super bowl team.

Los Angeles Chargers

The fact that the Chargers as a team, weren’t very successful last season, probably won’t affect their value that much this season. They’re another great overall team, and having Justin Herbert gives them an added threat of being able to run read options and quarterback runs.

Philadelphia Eagles

With the Eagles success in the NFL, they’re likely on a couple owners radar now. Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown are a great quarterback/wide receiver combo, Miles Sanders is always a threat to break a big run due to his speed, and their defense is actually one of the best in the league overall.

Kansas City Chiefs

High point balls from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce is as cheesy as Tom Brady to Mike Evans. I do think the Chiefs will get bid on, but in my opinion they’re not that great of an all around team. If you shut down Kelce, the rest of the team is sub par.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals offense is explosive, Ja’Marr Chase is almost impossible to stop one on one and Joe Mixon will stiff arm an entire defense into the dirt. They may not go for as much as the Buccaneers or Bills but the Bengals will definitely be one of the higher priced teams.

Potential Sleepers

There are a few teams I could see getting a bid on as a “just in case” scenario. Teams that are decent but not an owners first choice if it can be avoided.

Minnesota Vikings – Mostly solid team. Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson are beasts but Kirk Cousins at quarterback might deter a lot of bidders.

Arizona Cardinals – With DeAndre Hopkins back the Cardinals could definitely get a bid or two. One good receiver may not be enough to for them to be really sought after though.

Cleveland Browns – A team that would be great for a run heavy offense. Not many passing weapons probably makes them more of a last resort for most owners.

What Actually Happened

Since I couldn’t get the prediction article out in time, we will just combine that with the actual results into one big article. Here’s how the actual team building broke down:

DRock – Cleveland Browns (1.5 Million)

Aceboogs – Buffalo Bills (8 Million)

TPBraves – Cincinnati Bengals (3 Million)

eboK – Kansas City Chiefs (3.5 Million)

JohnnyWheels – Philadelphia Eagles (1 Million)

Abyss – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6.5 Million)

TexasJames – Los Angeles Chargers (8.5 Million)

Lucky – Green Bay Packers (1 Million)

Turns out that most of these predictions were fairly accurate. The fact that there are only 8 teams kept the bids relatively low compared to last season. I was slightly surprised to see that the Chargers went for more than both Buccaneers and the Bills. Each owner was asked a couple questions about their bidding strategies and how they felt it went. These were their responses.

Lucky – I went into bidding wanting Chargers and I had them at 8 million for the longest time, but when I started adding up (how much he spent) and realized I might have made a mistake. So when James placed his bid on them, I was happy with getting the packers for only a million.

DRock – Browns for cheap was the plan going in, unfortunately we spent 500k more than expected. We went after Chiefs up to 3 million and the Bengals was going to go up 1 or 2 million more but we decided that we would take Browns with that run game, DeShaun Watson and defensive line.

Tpbraves – I was pretty sure which 4-6 teams were going before bidding, was also really surprised the Bills went for so much but they were in the Super Bowl last season. We all knew Bucs would be up there with the aggressive catch cheese.

JohnnyWheels – Bidding was good, I personally think we have too much money and too many teams to bid on. We had a pretty decent list, we went by as the bidding happened. We knew the Bucs, Bills and Chargers would go for a lot.

eboK – Bidding went better than expected but it almost went horribly wrong . I initially put 6 mil on the Bucs to get their price up but no one wanted to bid on them. I would’ve ran it back with big Tom & DOMINATED everyone but it would’ve been a boring ass season.

Abyss – I just wanted a team that could score points. That was the only thing I cared about.

TexasJames – Yes, we knew who we wanted going into the season. There was no amount of money going to stop us from getting them. We wanted to get ourselves one of the top teams. That being Chargers or Bills and maybe Buccs or Bengals. But we got the team we wanted (Chargers) and are very happy with the price.

All of the owners that I talked to were in agreement that the shortened team bidding was much better than last season’s. It will be interesting to see if the low cost of the teams will drive up the cost of some of the players.

V3 OWNER/GM/TEAM RANKINGS FOR SEASON 7

Team bidding ended last night and as the dust finally settled, we look into our latest rankings as our 8 teams start to take on their season 7 identities a bit more. Next up is player bidding 🙂

#8 JOHNNY WHEELS x BLUNKEY (LAST WEEK #7)

Our initial #8 ranked team is back to their original ranking after spending the minimum 1MIL required on the Eagles. I don’t mind this bid, you take over the NFL’s #1 ranked team by wins/losses, figuring players like Hurts and AJ Brown have a strong chance to receive badges in the following weeks ahead. My only true concern with this bid is simple, currently Hurts isn’t a top 8 Madden QB and Sanders/Gainwell are nowhere near top 8 in RBs. Can a brand-new owner and a brand-new GM thrive using star level players at the games most important positions?? And most importantly, will top level talent be happy using this team for season 7, knowing they are also paired with Ownership “Green Pea’s” of the VFL.

#7 TPBRAVES x MIDNIGHT (LAST WEEK #8)

Jumping back to their original #7 ranking, we see Braves and company land the Bengals for 3 MIL. This is definitely a high value selection, Burrow has fearless, Mixon is a RB cheat code and the entire field is filled with offensive weapons (Chase, Higgins, Boyd, Hurst). With an improved offensive line and defense, the Bengals are a team that can compete with anyone in the league, IF you pair the team with the appropriate users. Where this team will potentially have issues is on the defensive end of the ball as they lack playmakers, especially within the secondary.

#6 ACEBOOGS x BWALL (LAST WEEK #6)

VFL “Bad Boys” aka the MONEY TEAM, stay put at #6 with their low-risk selection of the Bills. In my opinion this was the correct move by ownership, neither the Owner or GM are QBs, so having Josh Allen should attract many available QBS to their team, now we simply wait for bidding.

#5 TX JAMES x CHAMP (LAST WEEK #4)

Down one spot from last week, is TXJames and Champ. This is a tougher team to grade/rank due to the massive injuries of their top OL, WR, top CB and of course Joey Bosa. Where many were to believe he would return Week 10/11, news actually came out last night that Bosa reaggravated his injury and his timetable for return could soon change. Coach Brandon Staley said this when asked about Bosa’s return, “It’s going to be some time”- Source

#4 DROCK x BRADY (LAST WEEK #5)

Coming in at #4 with possibly the sneakiest bid of Season 7, Drock and Brady put all their eggs into the run game and Deshaun Watson (If he gets his abilities back). I personally enjoyed this bid, especially when you consider it only cost ownership 1.5 MIL. Like stated above, the biggest question mark is Deshaun Watson and the potential of him returning to the game, but with no abilities. EA dev team sadly holds this VFL team’s future in their hands.

#3 LUCKY x NEDLEY (LAST WEEK #2)

Coming in at the #3 spot- down one spot from a week ago, Star QBs/Ownership Lucky and Nedley put all faith in the 38-year-old, ayahuasca sipping HOF Aaron Rodgers. From the standpoint of their team so far, the pick makes perfect sense. You have two great QBs selecting possibly the most OP QB in the game of Madden. My only concern is their lack of WRs and edge rushers, which could pose an annoying element for other users that are bided to this team. Either way, Lucky certainly has a clear-cut vison and he’s sticking to it.

#2 EBOK x HUCCI (LAST WEEK #3)

The returning champ made another solid value bid by selecting the Chiefs for only 3.5 MIL. Ebok himself though is currently in a very conflicting state this afternoon. Early this morning his original GM of choice Beaste announced he will in fact play in Season 7 and his teams speedy WR Mecole Hardmon was put on 4 game IR. Two tough breaks for the defending champion.

#1 ABYSS x KOOLAIDZ (LAST WEEK #1)

Ending our V3 rankings here, we see a very familiar face staying put at the #1 spot. Abyss lands himself the hands down most annoying team to play against in M23. You can except a constant barrage on high point bullet passes from Brady to Evans all season long.

Another Way Too Early Owner/GM Rankings (Updated)

Late last night Season 7 GMs were announced and now the clock begins on Team Bidding. This is our first look at the decision-making ability of our newly appointed Owners. Below are my updated Owner rankings based on their GM additions. Once again, congratulations to everyone involved this season!

#8 TPBRAVES x MIDNIGHT YORK (#6 LAST WEEK)

Down two spots from last week, Braves heads into Season7 face first! Being a new Owner will always present early issues and needed adjustments, but what hurts this particular owner the most is his questionable hiring of Midnight. The hiring itself can be looked at in many ways, but Braves posting in discord chat just hours before GMS were announced, looking for his Season 7 apprentice is a questionable start to the upcoming season. How prepared or not prepared was he when this crucial decision was made??

#7 JOHNNY WHEELS x BLUNKEY (LAST WEEK #8)

Do you believe in miracles!!?? Some were shocked when Mr. Wheels himself was given the opportunity to be a Season 7 Owner and now his first decision made was adding VFL’s Bad Boy QB Blunkey, to be his #2 this season. In my opinion, I love the move and because of this move Wheels has been bumped up one spot in my rankings. This duo will have major eyes on them all season, let’s see what they decide next, once Team Bidding is announced.

#6 ACEBOOGS x BWALL (LAST WEEK #5)

A small drop from my initial rankings last week, Ace starts his comeback tour aka revenge season by adding the likes of BWALL to his arsenal. Here’s what you have with this duo, two VFL veterans that know how to win and most importantly what it takes to build a championship caliber line. My question here is simple, they both carry giant personalities that sometimes rub people the wrong way, as the #1 and #2 of a team, how can that potentially effect team building moving forward?

#5 DROCK x BRADY (LAST WEEK #6)

Don’t call it a comeback! Jumping up one spot from my initial rankings, Drock made a very strong and bold move by aligning himself with one of the leagues most touted and feared QBs IR Brady. Here’s the dilemma though, Brady is signed up as an RB for Season 7!

#4 TXJAMES x CHAMP (LAST WEEK #4)

Staying put at my initial #4 ranking, TX James adds a stellar GM by the name of Champ to his potential championship roster. I personally love the move and will be very interested in seeing who these two select during team bidding.

#3 EBOK x HUCCI (LAST WEEK #1)

Trending way down from last week’s initial rankings, Ebok starts his possible repeat season by adding a position player from Season 6 that put together only 600 yards, 3 TDS and a 3-2 record. Now at first glance I’m sure many will question this move, but the champ does what the champ wants and only time will tell if this decision adds to the $$$ bag or quite possibly fumbles the bag.

#2 LUCKY x NEDLEY (LAST WEEK #3)

Lucky makes a giant swing for the fences with the addition of Nedley as his Season 7 GM. These two QBs could both end the season top 5 in all QB statistics. When it comes to the VFL, that’s a potential recipe for a title.

#1 ABYSS x KOOLAIDZ (LAST WEEK #2)

Back like he never left, Abyss finds himself in the beginning stages of what looks like a MONSTARS like potential squad! With a combined record of 17-5 from Season 6, these two will hit the ground running and immediately demand respect as we head into Team Bidding.

VFL Season 7 Owners REVEALED

As many of you know this has been a difficult past month for the league. From the sale of the league happening midseason to finishing out what was a very poorly ran league to the finish line with a sloppy ending. But the new staff is promising a new direction with a much better foundation that will lead to a better overall experience. That change starts today with us staff selecting the owners that we believe, will do the best job developing competitive rosters and being role models in this community. So without further to do, I’d like for you to checkout our season 7 owners!

Abyss – Abyss has been a staple within the league. No matter what position he is in, he has always been considered a top player. Choosing to return as an owner this season, he will undoubtedly be the early favorite. Rumors have surfaced of Koolaidz or IAMBeaste will be looking to join him. When asked for a comment on his return to ownership Abyss chose not to respond.

Aceboogs – Aceboogs returns as an owner after falling just short of a championship. He is so close to achieving greatness he can almost taste that Super Bowl trophy. The rumor mill has not shed much light on his potential general manager choice this season, but a little birdy has whispered that Kuhrow could be making a return. When I asked about the upcoming season Aceboogs said:

“Another owner I wanna call out lucky  ebok and drock All of y’all are my sons and aren’t man enough for ownership and you’ll see in due time that any of y’all cant knock me off my grind my shine cause I’M BACK and I’m in my prime f*ck a ebok drock Sheetrock shmeock RAVENS IN 4 JUST WIN BABY

EboKstOp – Ebok has just finished winning his first Super Bowl championship and many would argue, the best season of his career. Being known as a bit of a troll, he has struggled appealing to many players on prior teams, pushing some into retirement. Hopefully ebok can find a better balance this season, focus on being an owner and not just a good player. When asked about other owners hating on him, ebok said:

I have nothing to say to these owners they should be more concerned with keeping up with the Super Bowl champ than reading my comments”

TxJamesSmithTX – TexasJames and his Chiefs were a favorite last season to make a Super Bowl run early on. Unfortunately, QB troubles and man coverage hurt on their way in the playoffs. Looking to get that first Super Bowl ring TexasJames is returning with a vengeance. He will most likely have Rogue Apollo as his general manager but the question has to be asked, is it time for him to cut the dead weight his friends carry and go for the title? When asked about this upcoming season JamesSmith said:

“I’m gunna take this time to call out Drock personally I don’t see how he is owner again between Drock Realest, and Areis they show the poorest and most pathetic display of ownership I have ever seen Its a shame to have them come back again I hope to see them on the field so they can show everyone the quitters they are”

Lucky Dabs – Lucky Dabs was the cinderella story of season 6. Many teams considered him to be a bit of a goof and many still do even after his Super Bowl run. Returning once again as an owner, hopefully he can create a good environment for his star quarterback. After Shig and Ponchy both had issues, Lucky’s management techniques have come under much scrutiny. When asked about his ownership position, Lucky was quoted as saying:

All the owners are ok I guess all i know whoever draft Rusty(ibprofam) better be ready Im matching up with him every week. Im sure hell hide behind his quarterback being bad instead of the fact he spends all day on the game and is trash”

Tpbraves57 – Tpbraves is new as a new owner and it will be interesting to see how he convinces his star players to come to his new organization. Falling just short of a Super Bowl, Tp wants this upcoming season in his hands instead of others. The media team caught up with him to get his comments on being a first time owner, Tp braves said:

“when I first join the league Lucky told me I wasn’t good enough to play. My first goal this season is to win a super bowl. Goal 2 is to expose Lucky for how garbage he is. By the end of this season hell want to quit just like last season”

Drock – Drock might be the most controversial returning owner this season. With his poor management and people skills, he is often referred to him as the Dan Snyder of the VFL. Rumors say he had a good enough interview to retain his ownership for this season. The media team did not get a chance to catch up with Drock for any comments.

JohnnyWheels – Johnny wheels has been a long time player in the VFL. He has shown desire of becoming an owner since season 4 and after being general manager for multiple seasons, he finally gets his opportunity. Many will be counting Johnny out before the season even begins, but his team could be a dark horse candidate if he does well in the VFL bidding. The media team could not catch up with Johnny for any comments on his new ownership.
