VFL DRAFT GRADES
IT'S GRADE SZN
10 - 49ERS Gmen took a massive swing when he snagged the 49ers in the opening round. The team selection is fine, that roster is CRACKED.. the questionable aspect is taking them R1 above teams like KC, BUF, PHI, MIA. User selections get even more intriguing when an RB/HC was taken in the second round (Paid Dough). On the bright side, Gmen landed a massive value with pick with his third selection (Kurhow). GRADE: D 9 - Eagles Another scenario where a team was taken in the 1st round well before community projections. This team also was at a disadvantage after trading away a 2nd round pick earlier in the day.. Assuming that could have caused FoeAlpha's desperation to land his team. As far as the player selections, time will tell since these 2 lines are mostly friends and not VFL veterans being forced to play together. GRADE: D 8 - Seahawks/ Switched to Jaguars VFL veteran Groff comes back into some good fortune after landing the 2nd pick and then trading up to the first selection and taking #1 ranked QB Ponchy. Followed by another high risk/ high reward selection in Brisket, Groff did very well targeting established high IQ players in this draft. The only true question mark is his team selection (Wrote this article prior to team switch.) Jaguars are a more viable option this season. GRADE: C 7 - Bengals Hogcrazy and GM ChildPlease aligned themselves with fellow VFL veterans to put together a very well known roster. The Bengals give them a strong team to user and other than Beaste switching from OC to DC, this group should do well this season. GRADE: B- 6 - Cowboys Lucky does what he's been doing for quite some time now and put together another potential SB winning roster. Lucky was the owner who gave the MUT crew an opportunity in the past, now this season we see him brining in some new faces to the league (Very former VFL Players). GRADE: C+ 5 - Ravens If I can boast for a moment, where I believe this team possibly won the draft this season was with their 42nd selection of the Baltimore Ravens. Players still have to play and games need to be won and this team does have potential question marks especially at OC with their first selection Realest. GRADE: B 4 - Dolphins The Taylor Swift/ Travis Kelce couple of the VFL, Beach and Champ headed into the draft with an obvious gameplan of selecting the players they select/play with every season. GRADE: B 3 - Chargers No D riding here, but typically speaking any team Brady is apart of does fairly well. Brady drafted his typical crew, but also took a chance on the former ownership group of Fig and Smitty. This is a very low risk, high reward move basically brining on another Owner and GM for added consistency, which is very key from a line 2. GRADE: B+ 2 - Bills Abyss and Hucci were already ahead of the curve by heading into the draft being two top end QBs. Their team pick and strong selections of Fear and Nate only solidified this teams path to a possible SB this season. GRADE: A 1 - Chiefs aka Team Toxicity : Ned made the obvious selection at #3 and brought in the game changer that is TMO, though this season he is apparently playing DC. This ownership group plus the addition of TMO quite possibly have the best chemistry day one, adding Hex as their 2nd QB will either destroy the league or their locker room. Last time Ned and Hex played together, the result was one person quitting mid-season and the other turning on his Owner publicly after a playoff loss. GRADE: BWoohdy and Lurker Through???
VFL DRAMA ALERT: Trouble for Unhinged Users??
It looks like Lucky’s claim that his team won’t be making any transactions this season is already in jeopardy. There are rumors swirling that Lucky’s second line may have already decided to go their separate ways. His second line consists of CG Lurker, Woohdy and Brisket. Woohdy is the best running back in the league and he knows it. Woohdy also wants a qb that is going to prioritize wins over their own stats. Lurker has shown that he can call a run-heavy offense in the past, so it’s unclear exactly what the issue is. Hucci called Lurker a “game manager” and said his gameplan consisted of “Pounding the rock and keeping the defense in the box” and that sounds like a good fit for Woohdy. Check out the rest of Hucci's analysis over at: https://primetimeleagues.com/vfl/2023/08/18/the-unhinged-users-team-analysis-can-luckyy-make-another-run/. I reached out to Woohdy for a quote for some clarity on the situation:“Why would you write an article about this” -
Fair enough, and woohdy raises a good point, is this even article-worthy? Was Woohdy’s trade request in chat all just a joke? Was this just an elaborate ruse from Woohdy and Lurker? Why would they do this if it was? To answer that, we were going to have to get the full story and we clearly weren’t going to get it from Woohdy. So what about Lurker? When I reached out to him, Lurker was in disbelief. “[I] Can’t believe woohdy would make such a comment” followed immediately by three “sob” emojis. If he wasn’t upset, he was doing a pretty poor job of showing it. In the end, however, it sounds like Lurker was going to be fine with whatever happens.“no need for me to be mad when lucky will more than likely trade me this season”
-CG Lurker This investigation was getting nowhere, we had to go to the head honcho and Lucky was kind enough to provide us some answers. I wanted the whole story from him. Was this a real trade request? Was it indicative of any issues on the team? Lucky denied any trouble on the team and assured us that Woohdy and Lurker were just joking around with each other. He acknowledged that there were some big egos on the team, but that came from people being competitive and wanting a ring."Woohdy with lurker and brisket will have a very successful season this season."
-CG Lucky So there we have it. All is well in LuckyLand, if its king is to be believed. The trade request was a joke. Woohdy, Lurker and Brisket all still want to play together. This should be an elite line, with three elite defensive users, if they can manage to find a good balance on offense. I’m exercising caution however; Woohdy is going to expect greatness and Lurker’s Madden 23 QB statline of 29 TDs and 39 INTs isn’t going to get it done. This is one of the early lines to watch in the VFL. If they suffer a big defeat early, it could break the chemistry on the line and could lead to those transactions that Lucky has said he didn’t want to make. The Unhinged Users Team Analysis – Can Luckyy make another run?

Top Ten Teams for Season 1 of the VFL on Madden 24
VFL Top 25 Players ( 21-25 )
VFL Top 25 Players
This is a list of what 4 others players and myself within the community think are the Top 25 players from this Madden which includes seasons 6 ,7 , 8 , 9. I would like to starting by thanking Farah , Gabe , Koolaidz and EboK for taking time to help with this process. There was a point system based on where you got ranked on all 5 voters. Starting with players ranked 21-25!25)- King LoGiiC
EboK on Logiic - “Logic has high madden iq but isn’t confident in himself. Which holds him back in game.” Farah on Logiic - “Solid player who definitively benefited from playing with 2 top players and had a big season at DL thanks to realest’s defense.” Gabe on Logiic - "Should be alot higher based on his skill but hasn't put together enough consistency. If he can build off this season I could see him shooting up the list" Realest on Logiic - Has a very high IQ for the game , Lack of confidence in himself which translates to his play at time will always hold him back from reaching his full potential.24) - NATECASHMNEY
Gabe on Nate - "Extremely underrated. Very well rounded skill player and a solid DC, can't ask for much more than that." EboK on Nate - “Good RB/DL & decent DC. Hucci was scared to face him in the bowl.” Realest on Nate - Nate can fit on any roster , Hes a plug and play type of player , Gonna give you solid numbers at RB and always gonna be a quality line 2 DC23) - Areis21
Farah on Areis - "Areis consistently puts up stats at DB and routinely has one of the tougher defenses in Madden to face thanks to his DB user skill" EboK on Areis - “Hated by mostly everyone in the league but is a good WR/DB & decent DC.” Gabe on Areis - " ppl might not want to hear this but he is 1 of the best dbs in the league and has shown consistency at the position for over 10 years now. Hes obviously doing something right. " Realest on Areis - Adapted this madden , always gonna get interceptions. For someone who doesn't touch the game outside of VFL games his numbers are always solid22) - Swift AP
Realest on Swift AP - Really improved over the past few seasons , Over the past 2 seasons hes lead the AP boys to new heights and have given them a name in the community , much respect! Gabe on Swift AP - " very impressed with swift and the AP boys as a whole. Imo they as a unit are the most improved line I've maybe ever seen and it starts with swift. I expect him to move up this list pretty quickly" EboK on Swift AP - “Beat me twice in the offs. Nuff said.”21) - Critical Telos
Gabe on Telos - " another underrated guy. Just handles business no matter the assignment and has been a big part of 2 championship teams. Telos is absolutely the kind of player you want on your team" Koolaidz on Telos - "Call him Mr. 6th man. Consistent role player that has contributed for two Super Bowl squads. Regardless where you put him he'll get good rushing stats." EboK on Telos - “Won 2 rings & is a borderline top tier RB. Glue guy.” Realest on Telos - As Travis Scott said " Who put this shit together I'm the glue " This is the guy you want on your roster , Team Player and just wants to help the team win.High Times – Totally Unbiased Early Team Rankings
Season 8 is already underway but our first true look at what this season's Owners/GMs are cooking up will come Friday, when player bidding begins. Thus far, Season 8 is already starting off with a major BANG, as team bids eclipsed numbers we've never witnessed in the league before. My rankings below will cover that and overall potential moving forward.
#10 & #9 - Miami Dolphins/ Dallas Cowboys
Let's start off with the facts, this is purely speculation based, by no means do I have a crystal ball in front of me, telling me which teams will succeed or fail this season. What I can tell you is, both of these teams currently have no true QB users heading into the season and they made the job even tougher by selecting teams that WILL NOT be QB friendly. On the positive side, cap spent is ideal and both teams are filled with OP weapons that can keep opposing teams up at night. My question is this, can they capitalize during player bidding and surround their lockeroom's with proven VFL winners?
#8 - Green Bay Packers
I get it, how could Mr Gunslinger himself be ranked so low when everyone and their mother could probably throw for 300 yards a game using Aaron Rodgers. Well, the answer is simple... Owner/GM Smitty and Fig are not users with any QB experience/success at least within the last 4-5 seasons I've been a part of the VFL. Now, does that mean their incapable?? No... but they either plan on one of them giving QB a shot, or they plan on somehow bidding 3 QBs while only having 24 MIL left to spend, on a total of 7 players.
#7 - Buffalo Bills
Here we go again.. The BUFFALO BILLS ranked this low??? When we can probably all agree, after roster reset this team is probably the most talented group of men in the game!! Here's my dilemma and thoughts, similar to the Packers above, you're 15 MIL deep in your cap already and you have no QB's. Now I understand the very talented user "Shady" is going to give QB a try and with him having Josh Allen, chances are he can make the jump work.. BUT, how did that go last season with the Eagles?? The answer is not well. If Shady is not confident at QB and stays at his true position RB, this team then needs to figure out how to afford 3 QBs with 25 MIL cap, good luck!
#6- Los Angeles Chargers
I'm truly excited for Johnny Wheels and company, he landed probably the most fun team to play with offensively and somehow, he landed them while spending 3-4 MIL less than other Owners who attacked the Power 6 teams. This man truly deserves another shot at leading a team to the promise land, after last season when he was setup for failure when he selected VFL clown Blunkey as his GM.. RIP.
#5 - Cleveland Browns
Hey, I know these guys!! Now coming off a season where he finished top 6 in all QB statistics, TPBraves is looking to build on that success with a complete 180 team selection with the Browns. Here's the facts because at this point, I've heard every critique this team is facing. Yours truly "Highwalkr" is stepping into the QB arena and is doing it with a team/player that will make passing the ball effectively, very problematic. The Browns are clearly lacking an elite QB presence with Deshaun Watson and after last season, the league eventually figured out how to stop Nick Chubb (sort of).. Here's what I'll say to all the haters- 39 MIL cap, an Owner/QB that has proven HE can get the job done passing and a GM that is probably one of the most active/engaged users within our league. If you think I don't have the ability to craft together an ELITE roster with a 15 MIL advantage over 60% of the league, you bumped your damn head.
#4 - Cincinati Bengals
I like Owner- Lucky, I also like the Bengals, especially Joe Burrow having the Fearless perk- what I'm a little concerned with is the amount of $$ they purchased this team for and his GM selection who I won a super bowl with! So I'm truly torn here, on one side of the coin I see a more than capable Owner/QB and a very capable GM/QB, playing with a team that's loaded with talent on ball sides of the ball. Now on the other side of the coin, I see a suspect GM pairing when you compare their situation to KC, TB, PHI and I see a team that should have probably went for 10-12 MIL at the most.
#3 - Philadelphia Eagles
I WILL NOT BET AGIANST EBOK UNTIL HE DOESN'T WIN A TITLE... I've made that mistake before and I simply won't do it again. All I will say is this.. He did a phenomenal job landing PHI for only 1MIL and as always, Hucci is a great GM addition. What I'm curious to see is if taking away the ability to high point pass 75% of his balls, will slow down his success in this league? Back-to-back season, he murdered with this meta, this season his offense will for better or for worse, look MUCH different.
#2 & #1 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers/ Kansas City Chiefs
With these rankings this early in the season, it's hard to truly say who's number one- So to make it easier on myself, I have these last two teams paired together because in my eyes, they are neck in neck when it comes to current state and potential. Both teams have phenomenal QB pairings, while both teams also paid WAYYYY too much for their respected teams. Either way, you get what you pay for and at least they only have to budget for 1 QB!
Interview With MVP Snub RPO Painkiller
Today i got blessed with a lil interview with the RB/DL stud RPO Painkiller. (Congrats to TXjames on the great season)
First off, congratulations on an outstanding season. Although you were not selected as the MVP, your performance was undoubtedly deserving of recognition. Can you share your thoughts on not being selected for the award and were you surprised when TXjames was given the award?I wouldn't say I'm surprised I kind of expected it because he went 11-1. I just don't think you being 11-1 holds the same weight when you're not leading either of your position groups in stats. And as for not being selected myself, I think slowing down and losing to some extremely good lines in the last 2 weeks hurt my chances.Speaking of losing to good lines. You had one of the hardest strength of schedules i’ve ever seen. Do you feel like the voters didnt take that into account when choosing MVP? Fear W/L (W- Blunkey, Lucky, Abyss, Hucci, Ace, eboK, Champ) (L- TXjames, Abyss, eboK, Dirty, Warpath)
Definitely played some tough games but I didn't feel like there wasn't a single game this season were we shouldn't have won the game or could've won the game. As for the voters I'm not sure if they knew or didn't know but I find it hard to believe they did know considering I didn't win the award. With that being said do you feel like the voters just gave him(TXjames) the award because he went 11-1? Heres his schedule. TXjames W/L (W - Fear, Ace, Hutch, Koolaidz, Hex, AP, Ace, WTB Buckets, Gmen, SirBottomis, BLK) (L- UserB)
Looking at who he played I'd say if we played the same guys my line would've at the veery least matched his record and his 11-1 wasn't impressiveYou had amazing stats & broke some records but do you feel like Drocks ego got in the way of your line winning or you from putting up even better stats? Also do you feel like you & Drock was a good fit?
Idk if it was his ego, I just think we as a line got to complacent after how well the first 2 weeks went for us. As for fit, I think the plan we had and scheme we ran made us a good fit but idk if that remains consistent if the scheme or team changes but who knows. In your opinion do you think Drock was feeling pressured by people in chat saying the browns QBs dont pass the ball? & did he feel like he had to prove himself?
I think a little bit of that played a factor into the dip off, but mostly we were practicing for like 3-4 hours a day for the first week or 2 of the season and then didn't for 2nd half of the season so I credit our drop off to that mostly. What are your plans for season 8? Are you going to run it back on the RB/DL or do you look to DOMINATE elsewhere? Also do you have anything to say to the people who think you only had a good season because you had Nick Chubb & Myles Garrett?
I will be playing RB, as for defense idk yet. I want to play DB but I guess we'll see. And idc what RB you give me... I get the touchs and I'll dominate
HIGH TIMES TOP 8 QB RANKINGS
#8. HXIED "BIGGEST PRO = LOW salary & MASSIVE POTENTIAL / BIGGEST CON = CAN HE ONLY SUCCEED WITH HIS MUT FRIENDS?".
The only true VFL rookie QB to make the list, since TPBRAVES technically played WR last season. Sure, AR is a cheat code to user, but running with the Green Bay offense, IS NOT. What makes HXIED's performance thus far even more spectacular, is the fact that he was a late addition to his team and basically had to jump right in... Not only to a new team, but a team that was in VFL turmoil after their GM retired and two different core players were traded away.
#7. BLKSUP3RSA1YAN "BIGGEST PRO = MASSIVE DUAL THREAT ABILITY/ BIGGEST CON = REPETITIVE & bASIC PLAYCALLING".
Quite possibly, one of the most enjoyable to watch QBs in our league, BLK is someone who simply sees the field different from most QBs in the VFL- more than likely due to his RB background. Another major selling point of this QB is his willingness to get his user WR involved - not just throwing to himself on most plays.
#6. TPBRAVES "biggest pro = great scheme/utilizes every player on the field/ biggest con = inexperienced and plays timid at times".
BRAVES has proved many doubters wrong so far this season with his ability to win big games and keep pace statistically with fellow top VFL QB's. From firsthand experience, this QB has the potential to be a top 8 play caller for many seasons to come- ideally moving forward you would like to see him develop a relationship with fellow VFL talent, so his lines aren't always thrown together last second and lacking past chemistry.
#5. EBOK "biggest pro = elite playbook knowledge / biggest con = hot and cold team performances, never consistently winning games".
Ebok is most certainly on the VFL's Mount Rushmore of league quarterbacks. It seems like every season he's either the favorite or a strong dark horse SB candidate. Statistically speaking his numbers outshine most, but his current W/L record and low completion percentage are slight concerns. One thing is for certain, when watching or playing against his line, the game is going to be a complete shoot out!
#4. CHAMP "Biggest pro = has some nearly impossible mut plays to stop/ biggest con = if highpoint passing wasnt so op, would he do this well"?
Champ is living the good life this season. Not only does he have the blessing of using the Chargers offense, but he fortunately has the blessing of using the best High point passer in Madden per his in-game abilities. Either way, we can't take away from his success thus far, with a nearly perfect season record and a very strong TD to INT ratio, one thing is for certain when Champ lines up for a VFL game- his opponents have a very tough road ahead of them.
#3. LUCKY "Biggest pro = possibly the leagues best game manager / biggest con = good at everything, great at minimal".
This QB deserves a lot of credit this season. From constant ridiculing in general chat, to players leaving and lines being changed ultra-frequently- LUCKY has been able to drown out the noise and simply focus on winning football games. His stats won't blow you away, but he does lead the league in completion percentage- which tells me, he's making the right decision more times than not.
#2. ABYSS " biggest pro = plays madden like an actual qb would/ biggest con = lets too many winnable games slip away".
Ironically speaking, Abyss might be our league's version of Tom Brady once you break down the all-time stats. I would say he's probably the most sought after QB to play for, posing very minimal ego and always in consideration for a league title. There's not much I could say here, that hasn't been said before by most other league members. Abyss could easily be our #1 ranked QB if his record wasn't a surprising 3-3.
#1. TXJAMESSMITHTX " biggest pro = most efficient qb in our league/ biggest con = none at this moment".
All you really need to say is 6-0 record. When our league revealed it's early MVP Canidates and TXJAMES wasn't listed, I truly believe we could have broken the VFL's code of conduct and started a riot!
