ROOKIE PREMIER = TH3P0RKS1DE

Being a new comer to the league can be a very intimidating and nerve racking experience. Also, at times, not very welcoming. I’ve noticed pork has been extremely active in the chat and played in Thursdays showcase! I wanted to catch up with him and get to know him a little better!

  • 1. Being a new player in the league, what we’re your initial thoughts about the discord when you popped in here?
Well I learned about this league from the mut.gg discord where Xbehe posted about it and I found my way in here. When I first got in here I was super intrigued with everything. I had never run trios even though I have played madden for 5-6 years. At first I thought it was just a cool thing some people were trying to start but as I started reading and looking. This is a legit league, with legit people, who are making legit decisions. That made me invested instantly
  • 2. How did you hear about the league? And based off first impressions do you think the community is a good fit for you?
As I said last question, xbehe posted about it in the mut.gg discord and I just decided to take a look. As soon as I came in multiple owners and governors were welcoming and supportive. They showed me around and helped explain. I got to give a good shoutout to Johnnywheels, he was the first guy to let me in a game and really just appreciated his character and vibe. Helped me meet a lot of the guys too.
  • 3. You played in the showcase and maybe it wasn’t your best performances, do you believe this contributed to you not having a bid? If so do you plan on taking the AFL by storm? Essentially showing everyone what they missed out on?
Yah without a doubt it contributed. I mean I am the new buck, young guy who nobody knows. I knew that going into showcase as a QB was a risk. But high risk high reward. Now I have a chip on my shoulder. I think after the first game which I made some bad reads and had some nerves I settled in. Ever since then I have put up solid stat lines with Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, and most notably Tom Brady against lucky. I have been in the lab and definitely plan to prove a point in the afl, I think quickly people will try and throw me in a line and see if I can help a team out. The league will learn soon.
  • 4. For the owners looking for potential backup plans, what positions do YOU feel you’re best at?
Well offensively you can put me in anywhere. I think once I develop more at RB or WR I will have some more value but that’s not the focus. I joined as a QB, plan to join a team as a QB. Defensively, I am a DL/LB guy. In a DL tryout with lucky I had 2.5 sacks with Trey Hendrickson and play DL irl, so I think I just have a deeper understanding for the position. LB, I had a user pick 6 in the showcase and know how to float in the middle pick up certain routes when I need to
  • 5. Last but not least tell us a little something about yourself. (Sense of humor maybe favorite madden memory how long you’ve played madden ETC ETC)
Well I have played madden since I was little, my dad never took it easy on me and would stomp me every time. But it made me want to work on my craft, now I whoop him every time we play. Being only 17 I’m young, I want to learn, I want to help, I want to win. At the end of the day this game is about fun, but this league is about winning a championship. I think I can help a team not only on the field, but also off the field and just bring a smile to some peoples faces, that’s the goal at the end of the day.
Honestly pork seems like a real chill individual help me welcome one of our newest members! And wish him the best of luck in his ritual career!
I expect big things out of him!

 Blunkster interview

I know everyone hates on blunkey, but to be honest, he’s not a bad QB and I saw a few questionable people being taken over him. In my personal opinion he can be a very bad teammate at times but he is not bad at QB. So I decided to catch up with him and ask him a few questions. Enjoy

1. Not being picked up in a ten team season, how does that make you feel? And what do you plan to do to prove you’re capable of being on a squad?

Not being bided on this VFL season is a new experience for me personally. I pretty much had a roster spot on a team every season since I first entered the league in season 4, and when I noticed I wasn’t gonna be bided on this season I was disappointed in a lot of those owners because in the past I had some of those guys back and I even gave some of those guys roster spots last season when I was in management position and they were looking for a home. This is one of those experiences I needed to experience so I can really know who’s there for me and who’s not so I’m grateful that I was put in a position like this but now I’m just looking forward to working my way on to a team and when I get my chance we not letting up the gas.

2. Would you be willing to play something other than QB if a team was willing to call you up?

I got a couple of people telling me to switch positions but I would never switch. I can’t trust no one else to lead a team like I’m capable of doing . I know if coach need me to make a play ima be the one to make a play if no one else is

3. I’ve personally played a few games with you and you’re honestly a decent enough QB my biggest complaint is the way you talk to people, do you plan on changing that at all? Or just staying the same way?

A lot of people view me as a disrespectful person but really I only talk to a handful of people in a disrespectful tone cause that’s the type of relationship we have with one an other. But when it comes to my actual VFL teammates that I had the pleasure of sharing the field with they know the real me

4. What team would you want to play on the most VFL wise?

I’m open to play for any team that gives me the opportunity to play for them I’m just looking to showcase my abilities. They say the hungriest dogs run the fastest, well I’m starving for this  and I’m tryna come out here and ball.

5. Do you think you still have a shot at winning MVP this season?

I’m not worried to much about the MVP award I know if I ball at the level I know I’m capable I’ll get what I deserve.

I know everyone gives blunkey a hard time but I think he deserves a spot on a team so any owner out there that has a QB that is struggling or maybe someone retires, this interview is a good indicator that he is hungry to show what he can do.

Post Bidding Roster Grades and Rankings

Let me start this off by saying I think alot of you guys did a awful job building a roster. For anyone who knows me I dont pull any punches and I will always be straight forward with my opinion. If you don’t like it prove me wrong or go cry.

10) Packers – I’m gonna say this with the upmost respect , what in the world is this? I’m very confused on how you spend double the amount on your team then you spend on your actually roster. We give owners 40 million in cap space to use and this team has 16.5 million left to use. I see some names on this roster who are players you want on a roster with Dfeet and Ugongetthiswork. Outside of that this roster lacks alot in my opinion. I could see some trade request in the near future coming from this roster. Even with the Packers this is a roster I see struggling for a majority of the season , hopefully I’m wrong but right now this is what I seeing with this roster. My letter grade for this team is a (  D- )

9) Cowboys – 1 million spent on the team , 13 million spent on the roster and still 26 million cap….. This team could have literally had any player in the league they wanted with this amount of cap remaining. I like that the Cowboys picked up the AP line because I believe they are a good 3 line in the VFL. I think the AP line is capable of winning you at least 5 games in a regular season and will always show up. 9 million on Drock???????????? I think this roster could have been put together a little bit better. Maybe instead of Drock and Doc Holiday you could have gotten Abyss and Redwater as a duo. The cap is was there to do it but just didn’t do it. Mr Ohio is a vet in the league and has been a owner multiple times so I expected better.     My letter grade for this team is a ( F )

8) Browns – I’m a little shocked because I thought with 39 million in cap space heading into the bidding the Browns roster would look a lot better. Looking at this roster I just see alot of names but not alot of people who are gonna mesh. This bidding hasn’t even been over for 24 hours and 3 new players have already arrived in Cleveland which tells me they already had trouble early. The most known player on the roster is Kuhrow who is making his return to the VFL after missing 2 seasons. Im confused on why your highest paid player won’t even be a big threat on the offensive side of the ball because he is a WR. I see alot wrong with this roster and after seeing multiple trades before the season has even kicked off I expect more trades to come in the near future. My letter grade for this season is a ( D+ )

7) Bengals – I have no idea what to think of this roster to be honest. As I was making this article Bengals traded Accountant for Redwater which I think was a mistake due to the fact that Accountant is capable of calling defense and Redwater doesn’t really like doing it. As I stated man time I think Lucky was blessed last season with guys like Hexi , Cruce and Boxing who were all 500k player who all feel into his lap. Now all of these guys are management or worth a large salary that Lucky couldn’t afford due to spending 15.5 on the Bengals. Sac hasn’t had much success in the VFL outside of using Aaron Rodgers. I dont really see a clear line one on this team which I think is needed to have a chance to compete for a Superbowl. My letter grade for this team is      a    ( D+ )

6) Chargers – When Johnny picked the Chargers I was happy for him at first. Johnny last season had lots of trouble getting guys to stay on the roster with trade demands left and right. This season Johnny finally went out and got a top tier QB in last season MVP James. Johnny also went out and got James players he was comfortable playing with in Rouge and Apple Danish. This line got 11 wins last season I don’t see why they can’t go at least 9-3 or 8-4 this upcoming season. My concern with the Chargers is the rest of the roster. The other 4 guys drafted Im not really to familiar with as far as names go. Johnny going out a grabbing a top QB along with having the Chargers I have him at number 6. My letter grade for this team is a ( C+ )

5) Bills – Bills were one of two teams who didn’t have a QB headed into the bidding and they paid 19.5 million for one. As I said Koolaidz to me is the knock off version of Ponchy , Doesn’t need good users to fit his scheme and makes due without. Im not very sure about the other 2 QBs they drafted but I heard good things about Explikcit so im sure Mallard feels he stole a solid QB. Datboykarma is a underrated player who is a VFL vet from years ago. They do have Call mee Kyle who seems to be the VFLs good luck charm this Madden however I’m gonna be honest hes more of a team mascot. Shady is easily the best player on this roster due to his ability to be able to call defense , be a QB and also easily one of the league most talent running backs. At some point I think it will be best for Shady to step in at QB to help improve the team. Bills in my opinion are the best Madden team and you can just if your a LB or DB you can just put the controller down and that defense will get the job done. My letter grade for this team is a ( C+ )

4) Dolphins – Now when Bhedden went out and got Cruce as a GM I was like wow this is a good start. Then I was really worried because he only spent 1 mil on his team with a QB who play alot of mut where the QBs having the good passing abilities so I was a little off of this team headed into the bidding. Then I seen he got alot of players I added onto my bid em up list. Also this team just traded for Da Account via trade today but Accountant is already rumored to be trying to force his way onto the Chiefs roster. I think Boxing and Verts were good pick up for this Dolphins team. Boxing was one of the best DCs in the league last season bring the Spinner , DB Fire meta from Mut into our league cause lots of fits for QBs. Verts is rumored to be a good solid QB also coming from the mut scene with a new style of offense the league hasn’t seen yet. Also lets no sleep on the Dolphins getting F34r who was top 3 in MVP talks just last season. My only concern is Tua… Will he hold this roster back or will he be able to get the job done. My letter grade for this team is a ( B+ )

3) Bucs – I would say without a question Beaste has the best QB room in the VFL. He was already off to a great start adding IR Brady as a GM but then he took it a step further by going right out and dropping 21 mil on Abyss. I dont think anyone will be able to say heading into the season they have 3 QBs to matchup vs against this Bucs team. However after you see the top 3 QBs the rest of this roster isn’t much to desire. Beaste has a line with 2 people he is comfortable with in Clutchking and his brother BeefyChubb. Brady and Abyss are gonna be playing with some guys they might not have the most chemistry with. I think because this team has the Bucs they will be fine in the regular season but when it comes to the playoffs I might be a little worried. I expect this team to be in alot of shootout because I dont see a DC on this roster which also really concerns me. My letter grade for this team is a ( C+ )

2) Chiefs – Chiefs were already looking strong headed into the bidding with owner Champ and GM Hexi looking like a possible power duo. I know Hexi was very happy after the bidding getting his ” Mut Boy ” Dexi GL. Also per usual Champ brought back his DC Farah en Fuego who he has played with every season. I also like that Champ brought in WRNZO to play with Hexi again because WRNZO was dominate in the running game last season. I guess my big question mark for the Chiefs will be line 3. When you spend lots of money on a top tier team your gonna take a shit somewhere and I think that is line 3. Regardless this team will be a regular season powerhouse for sure. My letter grade for this team is a ( B+ )

1) Eagles – Ebok I believe on paper has the most complete roster after the bidding. With 39 mil in cap headed into the bidding I already seen what Ebok had cooking for the most part. I know this season he really wanted to make sure he surrounded Hucci with good talent and he did that by getting him Tmo and North. These are 2 guys who are VFL vets and both have been winners in this league. Also I knew Ebok would go out and get Gabe to come back and play on his line because that is someone he is very comfortable playing with. My question mark with this team is what the 3rd line will look like. Bressus is making his return to QB which I think might be best for him because his ability to be a running back was at a all time low. Somehow this kid continues to find his way back onto Ebok roster. I think Brisket could be the bright spot on the 3rd line and help them in the long run. My letter grade for this team is a ( A- )

Bidding player predictions

I have gathered Information from talking to players and owners and GMs around the league to see who may go were. This is merely the outcome information i have gathered after all my conversations with players and management around the league. This will not be 100% but i will be accurate on many.

Some teams were easier to gather information for than others for all those who commented and helped me with this Thank you….

NOT ENOUGH INFO

Realest Bid Em Up List!

This is a list of good players in the league who usually go for a value lower then they should or are new guys trying to sneak around playing for certain teams! List will be going by there offensive positions!

QBs

1) TexasJamesSmith- Its not that James is sneaky but he is the season 7 MVP , I cant recall a time James has gone into the bidding so I think he could be valued as the highest prospect coming off his MVP season. I would easily look at spending 15 million on James in the bidding.

2) D1 Verts – This is a mut squads QB. I haven’t heard much about him outside of some intel I received from players around the league. I would probably pay 10+ million on this guy because as you seen i recent events guys like Hexied and Cruce came in front the mut scene and helped led the Packers to the SB. Can’t allow these type of guys to skate under the radar going for 500k.

3) BLKSUP3RSA1YAN – Blk is has played in both superbowls in this Madden. Now while I would have Blk high on my list he doesn’t have some limitations at QB that owners should know about. If you getting blk and expecting him to play on a non mobile QB you are setting him up for failure. Blk is a guy who needs a mobile QB to really get the most out of his scheme which makes him effective. I would easily spend 8 mil on Blk but you better have a QB with some speed.

4) DtM x KoolAiDz – Koolaidz is a vet but he struggled some last season. I would label Koolaids as the super knockoff Ponchy. Really just a guy who only wants to throw to his CPU routes and the users are pretty much non factor. Koolaids is probably in the same price range I would pay for Blk. Anywhere from 8-10 million seems about right.

5) Kxng x – This is a guy who is known to play on teams with Chiefs owner champ. Not gonna lie he signed up a QB and I’ve never seen him play QB which gives me trying to sneak around vibes. I would spend 1-2 mil on him just to drive his price up.

6) Userb flawless – Camaro is one of the most underrated QB in the league. I think he very capable of being a solid line 2 QB and a great line 3 QB. In scrim games he loves to joke around alot which could led people to think hes bad but Ive played against him enough to know hes a pretty solid QB. Easily worth 4 to 6 million in the bidding.

RBs

1) Ungluedtiger360 – Tiger has been up there for the leads leading rushers for the past few seasons. I think he has a bit of a ego issue but he does put up the numbers. I would spend 5 mil on him

2) WoohdyV2 – Woohdy is always the guy nobody drafts but when he gets a shot he always puts up the numbers. This guy also made some big plays at DB in the superbowl this past season. Like Tiger I think Woohdy is a 5 mil player.

3) WRNZO – Dont know much about RNZO as a person but I know for a while his yards per carry were insane for sometime last season. I also think he was underrated on the DL last season as well. I would go at least 4 mil on this guy in the bidding.

4) WB MVP – Everyone remembers the WB crew from last madden. Im not sure what WB guy it is but I know he plays some mut squads which makes him very aware of the meta of the game. I would throw at least 3 to 4 mil on him I would also message him to see if hes capable of being a DC this season. Could be a steal pickup.

5) AppleDanish – known to play with James Smith. If your going for James Smith this is his RB who I would look to pair with James. Anywhere from 2-4 mil would be the price.

6 ) Northsidez – Now in the past North has been a beast , however this Madden he just doesn’t seem to be as good as he has been in the past. Still a OG in the VFL who I would spend 6 to 8 mil on.

WRs

1) SBG Boxing  – This was Hexi DC from last season. One thing I noticed about him was his ability to make quick adjustments defensively which very few are capable of. Also he knows how to get open vs man coverage which is a very important skill set. Going into the bidding I would have him ranked as the #1 DC. This is a guy I would spend 12 to 15 million on.

2) Farah En Fuego – Farah usually comes up with some of the leagues best defensive gameplan on a game to game basis. He studies alot of film and will always have his line prepared going into a game. I also think he is a underrated WR. I would spend anywhere from 13-15 million on him. He is a league vet which goes along way when you can add a vet to a roster looking to compete.

3) ljthegoat23 – This might be most interesting player in the whole bidding. I dont know much about him outside of him being ranked #3 on the mut squads leaderboard. Being ranked that high means you put alot of time into the game which means he has to have a good amount of knowledge for the game. I would message this guy asap and look to make him a DC this upcoming season. I would spend at least 8 million on this guy and maybe then more.

4) Rouge Apollo – Known to play with James Smith. I would add him to a line with James Smith and Danish where they went 11-1 last season which was the leagues top line. 4 to 6 million easily.

Owner team selection rankings

This is an owner team bidding ranking not an owners power ranking this is based purely off of the team bidding not skill

#1 Chargers (12.5M)

Johnny wheels / Gmen

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top players: Joey bosa, Khalil Mack, Mike williams, justin herbert

This is a great team pick with high quality players at every position needed. In my opinion the best team in madden. With johnny getting the chargers it will be the first time Johnny gets a highly targeted highly talented team as management. Going from the 49rs to the Eagles and now finally the chargers. With high explosives big targets on the outside, Coupled with a big arm QB and an elusive tough RB. there offense is no joke. On the other side no outsiders edge threat strip specialist, acrobat, and KO abilities the defense is also top of the line in the league. All aspect of this team is everything an owner wants and should attract some good talented users. It was a value pick with the price being solid in comparison to the rest of the league with all the other high tier teams went for more.

#2 Buccaneers (16M)

Beaste / IR brady

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Defense:  ⭐⭐⭐

Top players: Mike evans, Tom Brady, Shaquil Barret, Lavonte David

Tampa bay is a powerhouse, With the goat leading the charge there is strong aspects to every part of this team. With beaste returning and IR x brady coming back surely playing QB this season. Its a perfect fit for those two. Although they have spent a lot on the team the fact they only need to find one QB on the roster the money was good. The buccaneers With tom brady and mike Evans are a heavily sought after team. There is no way to put this team past number 2. With heavy depth at WR and 2 strong Running backs and a good Oline the supporting cast of brady and Evans is high on the offensive side of the ball. Although lacking in a few positions on the defensive side of the ball. But with lurker at LB and and an edge threat pass rusher the buccaneers are still solid on the defensive side fo the ball at least enough to slow down offenses enough for the Bucs offense to wreak havoc on other defenses in the league.

#3 The Browns (1M)

TP braves, Highwalker

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐

Defense:⭐⭐⭐

Top players: Nick Chubb, Amari Cooper, Denzel ward, Myles Garret

The browns come in at number 4 strictly on the basis of the price. Although a good team some may think the browns are missing components but they make up for that in having the two best players in madden and their respectable positions. Not QB but still game changing with nick chubb and myles garret the two players alone can carry and change every game they partake in. There is none better at their positions. With no abilitys at QB this team will be one dimensional but that one dimension is an extremely strong aspect and can overtake an underwhelming defense and offensive line quickly.

#4 Bills (15M)

Mallard / shady

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top players: Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Von Miller, Tre White

It is great to see the newer owners stepping up and making moves picking up the bills is a solid start to ownership. With great pass rush high value QB play and a standout WR and CB. The bills team is two seasons out of the Superbowl. Albeit under new ownership the bills are a very capable team going for a high price the bills will still compete. Going to be interesting to see who mallard will pick up in the bidding to pilot Allen and Miller. This team is very capable and will be competitive in the right hands.

#5 Chiefs (16M)

Champ / Hexied

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐

Top Players: Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Eric Reid, Chris Jones

The Kansas city chiefs are coming off a Super bowl win. With new ownership they look to repeat even though the chiefs are a very capable team it is not going to be an easy road. The chiefs have one of the most prolific offenses in the league but their defense is lacking. Even in a blitz meta. The chiefs are a high quality team on one side of the ball. But placing 16 million on a team is going to make player bidding strenuous. With two QIBs in management the player bidding may be better than a few but cap is going to be restricted.

#6 Packers (16M)

Smitty / Fig

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Defense:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top Players: Arron Rodgers, Robert Tonyun, Kenny Clark, Jaire Alexander

The Packers are a strong team who made a Super Bowl appearance last season. Is verry possibly able to do so again. With Rodgers, Lazard, Tonyan, and arron Jones. A high powered offense armed with the arm of arron rodgers is a scary thing. The the quick realese big targets at WR and and a good enough Dfense with inside stuff the packers are very capable of competing at the highest level of competition. Superstars at good positions on both sides of the ball the pakers will look to air it out on offense and proceed to follow all things that have to do with rodgers and couple that with aaron jones and a sturdy running game.

#7 Bengals

Lucky / Sacrifice

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐⭐

Top Players: Joe burrow, Joe Mixon, Jamar Chase, Trey hendrickson

The Bengals are a verry balanced team and are a high-ranking team in the league. If the price was a bit better they would have found themselves a few notches higher in the rankings. None the less still a Quality team. With Jamar chase and joe burrow leading the pack. The Bengal’s have a strong run game strong pass game. With burrow unaffected by pressure via his ability is a huge benefit in the league. With a high-quality offense its the defense that is the concern with only one superstar on defense and as everyone knows the ability’s are HUGE in this game. This is a concern the offense will have to overcome the defenses short comings. The offense is surely capable of doing so.

#8 Eagles

Ebok / Hucci

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Offense:⭐⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top Players: Quez watkins, Aj Brown, Fletcher Cox, Darius Slay

The eagles are an underwhelming pick that was a surprise from ebok. I am intrested to se what is done with them. They do have top speed players and big targets. The major issue comes in with no QB abilities. Which will end up being tough to handle with the offense that the eagles have. The only thought i can find is that ebok is hoping that the eagles get some changes post superbowl. But as they stand now there will be some offensive woes when dealing with jalen hurts.

#9 Cowboys (1M)

Mrr Ohio / rooster

Team Quality: ⭐⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top Players: Ceedee Lamb, Tony Pollard, Michah Parson, Trevon Diggs

The Dallas Cowboys are a weird team. Strong Defense and suspect offense they are a bit off balance. With an outstanding defense one of the best pass rushiers in the league in micah parsons and acrobat corner diggs. Dak arm is the major factor hear he has throw power but no velocity and the Cowboys WRs are not game breaking in any aspect. The offense will lack in comparison to the higher tier teams.  It will be a balancing act to get the Cowboys offense moving. going to be tough for the Cowboys QBs getting that offense moving.

#10 Dolphins(1M)

Bhedden / Cruce

Team Quality: ⭐⭐

Value: ⭐⭐

Offense: ⭐⭐

Defense: ⭐⭐⭐

Top Players: Tyreke hill, Jaylen Waddle,  Xavien Howard,

The Miami dolphins are coming in last. They have speed all over the place but are going to struggle to push the ball down the field on offense. The defensive side of the ball is not much different with limited resources across the board this team selection was complicated and has to have a deeper thought process. Extremely surprised with this pick coming from Cruce. Being a Mut guy he is aware of what abilities mean in madden. Taking the dolphins are the bottom of the bucket when it comes to abilities there will be a steep hill to climb.

High Times – Totally Unbiased Early Team Rankings

Season 8 is already underway but our first true look at what this season’s Owners/GMs are cooking up will come Friday, when player bidding begins. Thus far, Season 8 is already starting off with a major BANG, as team bids eclipsed numbers we’ve never witnessed in the league before. My rankings below will cover that and overall potential moving forward.

#10 & #9 – Miami Dolphins/ Dallas Cowboys

Let’s start off with the facts, this is purely speculation based, by no means do I have a crystal ball in front of me, telling me which teams will succeed or fail this season. What I can tell you is, both of these teams currently have no true QB users heading into the season and they made the job even tougher by selecting teams that WILL NOT be QB friendly. On the positive side, cap spent is ideal and both teams are filled with OP weapons that can keep opposing teams up at night. My question is this, can they capitalize during player bidding and surround their lockeroom’s with proven VFL winners?

#8 – Green Bay Packers

I get it, how could Mr Gunslinger himself be ranked so low when everyone and their mother could probably throw for 300 yards a game using Aaron Rodgers. Well, the answer is simple… Owner/GM Smitty and Fig are not users with any QB experience/success at least within the last 4-5 seasons I’ve been a part of the VFL. Now, does that mean their incapable?? No… but they either plan on one of them giving QB a shot, or they plan on somehow bidding 3 QBs while only having 24 MIL left to spend, on a total of 7 players.

#7 – Buffalo Bills

Here we go again.. The BUFFALO BILLS ranked this low??? When we can probably all agree, after roster reset this team is probably the most talented group of men in the game!! Here’s my dilemma and thoughts, similar to the Packers above, you’re 15 MIL deep in your cap already and you have no QB’s. Now I understand the very talented user “Shady” is going to give QB a try and with him having Josh Allen, chances are he can make the jump work.. BUT, how did that go last season with the Eagles?? The answer is not well. If Shady is not confident at QB and stays at his true position RB, this team then needs to figure out how to afford 3 QBs with 25 MIL cap, good luck!

#6- Los Angeles Chargers

I’m truly excited for Johnny Wheels and company, he landed probably the most fun team to play with offensively and somehow, he landed them while spending 3-4 MIL less than other Owners who attacked the Power 6 teams. This man truly deserves another shot at leading a team to the promise land, after last season when he was setup for failure when he selected VFL clown Blunkey as his GM.. RIP.

#5 – Cleveland Browns

Hey, I know these guys!! Now coming off a season where he finished top 6 in all QB statistics, TPBraves is looking to build on that success with a complete 180 team selection with the Browns. Here’s the facts because at this point, I’ve heard every critique this team is facing. Yours truly “Highwalkr” is stepping into the QB arena and is doing it with a team/player that will make passing the ball effectively, very problematic. The Browns are clearly lacking an elite QB presence with Deshaun Watson and after last season, the league eventually figured out how to stop Nick Chubb (sort of).. Here’s what I’ll say to all the haters- 39 MIL cap, an Owner/QB that has proven HE can get the job done passing and a GM that is probably one of the most active/engaged users within our league. If you think I don’t have the ability to craft together an ELITE roster with a 15 MIL advantage over 60% of the league, you bumped your damn head.

#4 – Cincinati Bengals

I like Owner- Lucky, I also like the Bengals, especially Joe Burrow having the Fearless perk- what I’m a little concerned with is the amount of $$ they purchased this team for and his GM selection who I won a super bowl with! So I’m truly torn here, on one side of the coin I see a more than capable Owner/QB and a very capable GM/QB, playing with a team that’s loaded with talent on ball sides of the ball. Now on the other side of the coin, I see a suspect GM pairing when you compare their situation to KC, TB, PHI and I see a team that should have probably went for 10-12 MIL at the most.

#3 – Philadelphia Eagles

I WILL NOT BET AGIANST EBOK UNTIL HE DOESN’T WIN A TITLE… I’ve made that mistake before and I simply won’t do it again. All I will say is this.. He did a phenomenal job landing PHI for only 1MIL and as always, Hucci is a great GM addition. What I’m curious to see is if taking away the ability to high point pass 75% of his balls, will slow down his success in this league? Back-to-back season, he murdered with this meta, this season his offense will for better or for worse, look MUCH different.

#2 & #1 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers/ Kansas City Chiefs

With these rankings this early in the season, it’s hard to truly say who’s number one- So to make it easier on myself, I have these last two teams paired together because in my eyes, they are neck in neck when it comes to current state and potential. Both teams have phenomenal QB pairings, while both teams also paid WAYYYY too much for their respected teams. Either way, you get what you pay for and at least they only have to budget for 1 QB!

Owner Team Bidding Rankings by Realest260

This ranking is my opinion on how owners did in the team bidding.

1) JohnnyWheels ( Chargers 12.5 Million )  – I think Johnny did the best job in the season 8 team bidding. In my opinion the Chargers are the 2nd best team in Madden after the roster reset. Johnny easily stole the show by only spending 12.5 million the Chargers while 5 other madden teams went for more. Johnny struck gold early in the team bidding and walked away with one of the best teams on the game. In the past Johnny has struggled to keep some of the leagues ” top players ” on his roster. I’m wondering if him having the Chargers will changed people opinion of Johnny this upcoming season. Best of luck buddy.

2) Mallard ( Bills 15 Million ) – Very simple Mallard got the best team on Madden. Josh Allen is a top 3 QB on Madden when it comes to abilities, size, speed and throw power. Not only that but Buffalo easily has the best defense on Madden. Bills defense has to be every defensive coordinators dream which is to play with a team with abilities everywhere in the secondary. If the Bills don’t have the fewest team points allowed this season everyone on the team should consider not playing again! Great pick by Mallard.

3 ) Ebok ( Eagles 1 Million ) – I was waiting for someone to throw 1 mil on the Eagles because they are worth it.  Eagles are fast on both sides of the ball and are very well rounded. Hurts may not have good passing abilities but he is a great runner with the fast break where you can really do some things in the running game. They have a very good WR core with a solid running back and a strong offensive line. On the defensive side they have at least 6 guys who you can rotate on the defensive line ill also have some DB’s with speed led by Darius ” Big Play ” Slay. Ebok fresh off a Super Bowl will be able to have 39 million in cap space headed into the player bidding.

4) Champ ( Chiefs 16 Million ) – This made a lot of scene for Champ to spend a lot of money on the a team like KC. I feel as if the Chiefs have the toughest offense to go against in Madden. It all starts with Mahomes and Kelce just like you watch every Sunday. Mahomes unlike last Madden is easily a top 5 QB on Madden with good passing abilities and a rocket arm. Kelce might be the Madden swiss arm knife when it comes to being all around player. You can leave him lined up at TE but you can also split him out at WR where he can cause a lot of issues when it comes to a size matchup. Then you throwing MVS , Mecole Hardman , Toney and your got yourself a Nightmare on Elm Street. Chiefs defense is pretty mid outside of Chris Jones but who needs defense when you got that offense.

5) Smitty ( Packers 16 Million ) – I loved Smitty going out and putting up the big bucks for a team like Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers is the 2nd best QB on Madden which make them so appealing. Packers are just very balanced every on both sides of the ball. I think it was very important for Smitty to go out there and get one of the best teams Madden has to offer.

6) Beaste ( Bucs 16 Million ) – I think this was a slight reach for the Bucs when the Chargers went for 12.5 million and the Chargers are a better Madden team. One thing I can say for sure is Tom Brady is the best Madden quarterback. Set feet lead , fearless and hot route master is a QBs dream come true. Then you throw in the likes of Mike Evans , Chris Godwin , Julio Jones which cause a lot of issues. With the reset it does help the Bucs defensively but offensive they have lost 2 of their top offensive lineman because of a glitch in superstar KO. For Beaste he will be praying for some help from EA hoping to get those players back. I would put Beaste a spot lower but they have Tom Brady.

7) TP Braves ( Browns 1 Million ) – 2 words… Nick Chubb , that’s all the really needs to be said. Nick Chubb caused a lot of fits around the league last season and I don’t see much of that changing headed into season 8. I don’t think it’s very important that they spend money on the running back position this season in the bidding but they have the cap to do so. Browns cause issues in Madden because they can take the clock with the running game and have Myles Garrett who might be the best pass rusher on Madden which can really limit the other teams offense with a short amount of time to score. If you’re a top RB in the bidding you should be getting in touch with the Browns management looking for a tryout.

8) Lucky ( Bengals 15.5 Million ) – Bengals are the worst best team on Madden if you know what I mean. Joe Burrow has most of the good passing abilities so it makes the team a big threat, They do have JaMarr Chase and Tee Higgins along with Joe Mixon in the backfield which gives them ton of talent on the offensive side of the ball but the defense to me is just mid. They have one good pass rusher but no abilities and Jessie Bates but thats it defensively. If you’re gonna spend 15.5 million on the Bengals you might as well have went for Chargers , Bills , Packers , Bucs.

9) Mr Ohio ( Cowboys 1 Million ) – Cowboys are just a super mid team to me. Dak stinks , WR play makers aren’t the best , defense is a better version of the Bengals. Diggs is really good and so is Parsons. But the Dak is just makes their offense very limited. If don’t have a passing abilities you need to be good running abilities or you need to be fast like Justin Fields. I would have spent 1.5 million on the Ravens or just went with 49ers who are a more well rounded team.

10) BHedden ( Dolphins 1 Million ) – Dolphins to me are like Dallas but with speed everywhere. I think Dallas is a better choice than the Dolphins due to Dak having better throw power than Tua and Dallas being better defensively. Much like Mr Ohio I think Bhedden should have just spent 1.5 million on Ravens or spent 1 million on the 49ers who are simply a more well rounded team than the Dolphins.

Top 20 players Season 7 (15-11)

This is opinionated and purely off of personal experience and statistics in season 7

Northsidez

Car:242
YRDs:1591
TDs:21

DL
TFL: 21
Sacks:10

Here at number 15 we have Northsides. Not only did he pilot Nick Chubb one of the most broken players in the league he also was piloting Myles Garret who is also one of the most broken players in the game. Finishing 3rd in rushing yards with a bit more than 1500 yards with a low YPC 6.6 he did lead the league in TDs. On the flip side controlling garret was not as successful only racking up 10 sacks with one of the most prolific pass rushers in the league. Which is why he ended up in the bottom half of this list none the less still deserving a top 20 spot. Playing hard on a run only team and still succeeding in that category is not easy. Regardless of the player you are piloting. Congrats to northsides for making the top 20

# 14

Farah En fuego

Rec:78
YRDs: 1816
TDs: 19
—————-
Ints: 6
DTds:2

Farah was one of the Stronger Play callers in the league this season although his statistics were not chart breaking. He was a major factor for his lines Ws. Finishing the season with a 8-4 record which is better than a lot of other players in the league. Delivering scheme after scheme to make that record come to pass. This is a major factor on why Farah has found himself on the top 20 along with the other talented players in the league.

#13

Redwater

REC:127
Yrds:3098
Rac:956
TDs:34
————————-
TFL: 45
Sacks: 14

Redwater was apart of one of the highest scoring offenses in the league. Putting up an impressive stat line in season 7. Leading the league in Receiving yards and receiving TDs and Rac. His defensive numbers were mediocre with a high number of TFL and an ok number of sacks. The influence was clearly more on the offensive side. Being the number one receiver in the league made Red a clear lock for the top 20 of season 7.

#12

Realest

Car:80
Yrds:673
TDs:10
YPC:8.4
————————-
TFL: 20
Scks:4.5
Ints:11
Dtds: 1

Realest has made this list mainly on a defensive play caller but on top of that realest had a decent season. Finishing the year top 10 in rushing TDs which does say a lot considering he was in one of the most pass heavy offenses in the league. As well making the most of every carry opportunity producing an 8.4 ypc average which is solid amongst other RBs. On the other side of the ball, he gathers 11 ints which is a strong showing. Having a lockdown defense is the main reason we are here talking about realest. Showing he is the #1 DC in the league by putting on a show in the Superbowl for all who were watching. Shutting down the high point throwing GB packers in multiple games. As well as backing up all the shit talk that was had in chat.

King Champ

TFL:14

Champ had a strong season with the chargers helping his team finish with the best record in the league. Picking up a Gm spot as well as taking a QB spot he had a outstanding season with 19 TDs and a single digit 6 ints. The chargers were a well fit for champ after picking up his go to receiver Farah the season started off fantastic for champ and ended with a all in all strong season. Look for champ to follow up his season 7 performance with another similar season in season 8 after taking ownership.

Season 8 Owners Ranking

In this article I will be ranking owners from season 8. The ranking will take experience, success on and off the field and player knowledge all into consideration.

#10

Johnny Wheels

Johnny wheels has yet to prove himself as a solid owner. His first season as management he was GM for the 49ers 2 seasons ago finished last in the league that season. Last season Johnny tried his luck at ownership, won the eagles in the team bidding, selected Blunkey as his GM which may have been his downfall, but none the less still finished at the bottom of the league. Not even in competition finishing the season with only 6 wins. Although Johnny put together a solid team in the bidding, many of those players did not want to stay in Philly. This has to be a main concern heading into the season for Johnny closing in on the team and player bidding. Johnny needs to find and produce a competitive season this year or his ownership opportunities may end early. It all has to start by selecting a solid GM that can invite and recruit good talent that wants to be there.

NEEDS TO SUCCEED

  • Strong GM
  • Amazing player management

In my opinion, Johnny is on the hot seat this season and must find a way to be competitive if he wishes to contiune owning a team in this league.

#9

SixthMallard

Mallard is a rookie owner at the NFL level but has experience running a team from his time last season as the owner of the AFL Packers. He is a strong new owner who looks to build a solid reputation coming into his year one of ownership. With bidding for both players and owners around the corner it will be interesting to see what he can bring to the table in the NFL. What players he brings with him to the next level, or will he gather players from the player pool we have seen.

I had a quick conversation with mallard to see how he felt about becoming an owner at the NFL level:

He stated “I’m excited for it. I had fun as AFL owner last season, and I’m looking forward to a new challenge in this one. While last year was really all about getting guys, really anyone, to play games, this season is going to be about finding the right line ups and making sure the best players are playing every game every night out.”

I also asked him how he felt he would rank amongst the other owners being a new owner.

He said “I think I’ll likely start off pretty low, I keep a pretty low profile in chat and I don’t think too many people know me, but I think my team will speak for itself. I think I’ll finish around the middle of the pack, make the playoffs, and have at least one good playoff series.”

I asked him as well how he felt the transition from afl will go he said “I think the transition will go well, but something unexpected can always pop up and I just want to be ready for anything.”

Overall Mallard is looking for a good start as rookie owner and as long as he does not have locker room issues it is very possible for him to finish in the top half of the league.

#8

FYCSmitty

Smitty is a veteran all the way back to the league arena days. He has vast experience in regular season and playoff games. Has had ownership experience and player knowledge of most players around the league. The biggest concern will be his play at QB. But other than his on field play a major highlight for Smitty will be his player pool. With a lot of newer faces around the league it will be interesting to see his bidding class and team selection in the coming days. It’s not hard to believe Smitty can have a solid season in season 8 being that he is a vet of the league but is still going to be an owner to keep an eye on during the bidding. Few owners come in without a plan and I’m sure he is no exception. A lot will be said in the team bidding to see were this owner will land in the overall ranking of things as well as player interest to his team.

#7

BHedden

THE GRITTY, Bhedden comes in at #7. For the main reason that he is a new owner but in the short time Bhedden has been in the league he has accomplished a lot.  Including to being a GM, as well as taking staff. He looks to broaden that resume with a strong season of ownership. In doing so he will need a strong strong supporting cast and GM. Which sources say the GM he is selecting is not bad by any means. Beyond management BHedden will need to make sure to make sure to secure a strong team and couple that with strong QBs in bidding is the best way to start strong. It will be a lot easier for a newer owner to recruit top players if he has a strong team. In my opinion Bheddens season starts there. Bhedden in my opinion is a very capable owner and a great guy who will be able to handle players with out a petty or overly aggressive temperament. The only concern I have for him as an owner is getting player to want to play for a new owner. As well as his on the field abilities a lot of ownership is going to have 2 QBs in management which if Bhedden does not take a QB spot will make it more important to have a strong player draft. His path through the waters is going to be tough but doable this is not the strongest season of other owners so his shot is solid.

#6

TP BRAVES

TP had a bit of a rough season 7 only winning 10 games. Some locker room issues and a rollercoaster of trades. This season he looks to turn the page and gather himself with a clean slate. Although last season their record was lacking the competitive side was not the Bengal’s had extremely competitive games. With the correct GM and team I feel TP Braves can take it to the next level and make the playoffs this season. His GM pick is a bit of a shocker but none the less they will have to navigate through the top heavy season. The top of this owners list is going to be overwhelming and a handful. I do believe TP is capable of winning and being better than a some of the owners ranked above him on this list but must prove he can keep his house in order and get players through bidding and keep them together. In order to build chemistry and make a strong late season push.

#5

MRR.OHIO

Mrr Ohio is a man that does not need an introduction, if you have been around at all throughout the years. He is a veteran in all since of the word. He has participated in all aspects of the league. From owner, GM, Staff and player. So having knowledge of players is not going to be an issue with his team bidding. The main issue I feel he will run into is making sure his management office has talent. The actual management side of things he can handle at the fullest. Like other owners he needs to use his GM spot strictly as a FREE player and QB. Since I do not believe Ohio is playing QB it will be extremely difficult for him to overcome the owners who do have 2 QBs already locked in going into bidding. I have no doubt that Ohio will no have no issues on the management side of things. On the field is going to be the biggest mountain to climb.

#4

LUCKY DABS

Well, he finally fulfilled his dream and made a top 5 list. It would be extremely disrespectful to not put the season 7 Super Bowl attendee in the top 5 owners of the next season. Lucky has proven he has what it takes to take a team to the Super Bowl. Knowing and using his knowledge of the league to maneuver through management issues and controversies Lucky will be an issue throughout the season. Although he is not the best player by any means he is no slouch on the management side of things.  Doing what it takes to win at all cost. Even after losing his GM early last season still managed to find a way to pull players to win games. Finding diamonds in the rough. Doing whatever it takes and I would expect nothing less this season.

#3

King Champ

Champ has owner experience. The last time being the Baltimore ravens season 6. Making an appearance in the playoffs. Couple that with a season 7 stint as GM of the Chargers under TXJamesSmithTX. He has ample of experience running a team. He has his own group of guys that I’m sure he is bringing in. With a strong player as his GM he will easily come into season 8 without stumbling. A strong game plan. I’m sure their team bidding will definitely have the showing of a strong QB team. With all this, this is the main factor that champ comes in at number 3 on this list and I expect and almost guarantee to see him in the playoffs at the end of the season.

#2

IamBeaste

After missing last season with some GM controversies. HE IS BACK. Beaste has made his return and is looking to pick up right were he left off. Which is a Super Bowl appearance if you didn’t know. The last time Beaste was in the league he was the owner of the season 7 Super Bowl runner ups the buffalo bills. Looking to build off that beaste is a front runner for another appearance in the big game. With strong QB play and fresh eyes after his short hiatus. He will take the league by storm surely pairing up with a strong GM and taking heads week one. Anything less than a Super Bowl appearance will be a bust. Showing his resilience in season 7 he started off rough but build a strong team around him to float him through the rough patch. but then turned on strong near the end to make the Super Bowl push. No doubt in my mind the slow start is out the window and it is all about the wins starting at week one.

#1

Eboktsop

Don’t let the constant trolling, FG shanking, Blunky hating fool you. EBOK is easily the number one choice on this list. The reigning season 8 Super Bowl champion Ebok has his GM returning and a list of players he will already be eyeing in the bidding. Looking for another season with a strong offensive team for him and Hucci. It will be a tough matchup for anyone who is lined up against these guys. Especially with the fresh faces and new owners this season going to be like shooting fish in a barrel for these guys. I expect the scoreboards to be lit up as well as their win column. Any player who lands on this team will be sitting in a good position going into the season. His management skills have seemed to be as good as his offense and Eboks offense is no joke, although it seems like that’s all he does, do not sleep on this guy. You will regret it…………
